Guest guest
Hi Francesca. I absolutely enjoy this group. I have " lurked " since I first introduced myself (see below) because I am still in the " learning " stage of CRON. The information you have at the Group website is invaluable and past posts have answered many of my questions. My husband was diagnosed with cancer in December. In January, he began eight weeks of Chemo (Cisplatin) and Radiation. Because his tumors are in his throat, he got a feeding tube the first of January. He can now swallow well enough to eat 1-2 times a day but gets most of his nutrition via the PEG (feeding tube). His weight dropped from 184 to 140. He lost almost ten of those pounds after treatment stopped. My reason for sharing this seemingly OT info with the list is to find out if anyone has experienced cancer and/or treatment while Croning. The side effects of the cancer treatment are a concern not to mention the cancer itself! Any insights would be greatly appreciated! Guest guest
Hi Francesca, Thanks for the note of encouragement. re. lurking and reticence: 1. I'm considering adapting a CR lifestyle, but not quite sure as to whether or not I CAN (will power issues, etc) 2. Some of the content of messages is so deeply technical, that I can't begin to understand it, so I pretty much scan through for any tidbits that I can wrap my brain around - i.e., couldn't/wouldn't begin to attempt any commentary in response Otherwise, I'm happy to have stumbled across this group, and I'm gaining much insight into what life with CR would entail. Thanks! > > Our membership continues to grow and recently there's been a surge of new > peoples joining the group. Guest guest
BJ: don't hesitate to ask questions if you don't understand anything. (I don't always understand everything myself!) The basic premise is simple: Eat less and eat healthy. Get all the nutrients. Concentrate for the most part on low calorie/nutrient dense foods. on 4/28/2004 12:42 PM, bjtoll@... at bjtoll@... wrote: > Hi Francesca, > > Thanks for the note of encouragement. > re. lurking and reticence: > 1.
