Guest guest
My Note: Hardly do I ever write to the list and base an opinion, due to the fact that people seem to be one sided or thick headed. Yes, thick headed, to think that one person expresses their viewpoint and everyone else must put in their two cents. Yes, the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights clearly state we have the right to voice an opinion and I am all for it, but why must we as human beings be so judgmental. I am not here to voice an argument on the issues of religion, race, creed, gender or disability. I hope that everyone will read my poem and just think about ourselves and others who we live with and our emotions. And to those that respond to my post, please answer with not a flame, but with a civilized and level head and if you don't agree with what I say. Please, respond with facts and logical answers and not with just heated words. I know I am just a 21 year old and to many still a kid, but I want to say something in a version other than a post, but in a poem. Thank You. In the eyes of an Outsider in the mist of it all. As I gaze into the conflict between good and evil. I see through different eyes the world we live in. Mainly the conflict between the issues of short statured people and the average size world, but I also see the disturbance amongst the short statured people. I hear talks between them of judgement between average size people and lp's. Little people cry out that average size people judge lp's mainly on their physical appearance and not of what is in the very essences of the soul. That we hinder the average size world with our mere presence. Also, lp's and bp's can not become couples because of the differences. Lp's say average size people are judgemental, but that is a two sided issue. Short Statured people are a minority in this world. Probably the biggest minority ever, since through out history we have be shunned by all races, genders and skin colors. As the 20th century draws to a close, a bitter chapter in the history books is written. The Great Depression, Two world wars, Vietnam, Korea, the introduction of sexuality transmitted diseases and the onslaught of greed, lust and poverty run amuck. Hate violence and bio-chemical warfare is at our fingertips. Not a good way to end the century. I sit on the outside watching it all and wondering what will become of us. I, as a dwarf, see what is happening on the listserve and in the chatroom. We bicker and fight amongst ourselves each and every day. I wonder how long this will go on until we finally say STOP and look at what is going on. People charge in a debate without using a level head and let emotions speak for them. Can we not discuss our lives in a civilized manner. We judge just as badly and harsh as those in the average size world. I look towards the children and their innocence and see that they have the answers. We, as the grown ups can learn a thing or two from them. If all this hate could be stopped for one moment and let us evaluate what is going on, maybe we would be shocked at what we saw. The monsters that we let loose with our feelings. For once in our lives, our children have the answers, if we thought like them, maybe our world would be better. For children think innocence and pure and think simple. Thinking simple is our key towards happiness. Judge not what you judge to be your opinion, judge what is right in our world..
