Hi, Loni,

No, I doubt it--they helped me in 2006 or 2007 and I have long forgotten their

names.  Sorry.

But I just called Dell tech support and told them I needed help to remediate

emfs that were causing me problems with my new computer (my computer was new

and I had 30 days free tech support).  For the next 30 days, almost every day

or 2, I spent on the phone with a techie or 2, up to 4 or 5 hours at a time,

some days.  Seriously!  We tried all sorts of things.

A hardware tech from India found that my model had emf reverberation with the

battery in place so I removed the battery entirely--I already knew I went

bonkers when it charged, so I needed it out when I was plugged in anyway; he

explained that tho you can disable the wireless cards on your computer, that

doesn't mean you are not going to continue to get some emfs from them, but it

helps, and so we tried that first; then later he talked me thru removing a

wireless card and broadband card (taking out the cards entirely voided my

warranty and so I actually waited about a year before doing that, because I had

free hardware support for 1 year).

Software techies from the US helped me change all the settings so that the

computer boots up faster and uses less energy over-all when running, they talked

me thru settings which would override automatic downloads and updates, pop-ups,

you name it.....  They were a huge help to me.  I worked with 7 different

techies in all, I think.  I have mentioned this countless times at this forum,

but I have yet to notice anyone else having tried this.  I cannot say whether

this will or not work on today's Dell computers, but it did back then.  I went

from not being able to be in the same room with my computer, to being able to

use it 2 or 3, and then later, 5 to 6 hours at a time.

Then I later went to a homeopath in NY for detoxing various toxins in my body

and after about 3 months of being quite ill and reacting more due to the

detoxing, I got to the point I could spend 9 to 12 hours on my computer

comfortably (not that I usually would, but I do now only use the computer on

weekends, usually for that long on Saturdays, due to family issues which keep me

quite busy otherwise).

Good luck, Loni.

Diane

Would putting a glass sheet over a computer screen be okay until I can order

shielding materials soon?

How would I ground it?

Thanks Diane, that's a load of info. I'll copy the list and call them. Great you

remember all that. Wow, I'm impressed!  Loni

The foil really helped me but I think some of these other suggestions will make

it even better. I need to spend more time on the computer if I can. Loni
