Dear friends,

I am an Indian and 74 years in age. Till the year 1995, I was a heavy

smoker, used to drink more than moderately and also chewed tobacco

frequently. Perhaps as a consequence, I was having high blood

pressure. My food habits were also totally uncontrolled. I never

used to bother about my medical condition till one day I had a

stroke (though I did not realize it) and went to a physician for

consultation. I was subjected to an MRI scan which confirmed that I

did have a blood clot . I was immediately put on appropriate

medication. I had in the meantime discovered that I had lost the

ability to use my right hand properly, but was otherwise physically

all right. However I used to carry on with my daily routines

including yoga and evening constitutional. . But taking into

account my medical condition, I decided to make some lifestyle

changes. I drastically reduced my smoking, made drinking a very

occasional pleasure and controlled my food intake to a very

considerable extent, without of course giving up on any of my

favourite food items. For about 3 years after my stroke I was on

medication, but as I felt my condition greatly improved , (I had even

gained near normal use of my right hand), I unilaterally discarded

my medication . A recent check of my blood pressure revealed that

it was within normal parameters. The vastly reduced intake of food

has made every meal a pleasant event and from health point of view I

have never felt better in my life. Though I am a widower, I also feel

my sexual urges quite normal. From personal experience, I find that

a very moderate food intake, with proper physical exertion is the key

to one's well being. I thought that I should share my experience

with others of my persuasion.

Yours truly,

Unnimenon
