Guest guest
Ian, As you know I'm sort of out the loop on medic work, and am now involved in Occupational Health and Safety. (Hazard recognition, health surveillance, COSHH and ergonomic assessments, VWF and RSI etc) If any one has questions of that nature, or wants to discuss particular cases I'm happy to give what advice I can. If the others would be interested I am sure I can create some cases for discussion which have an OH angle to them. I'm sure the guys out there come across 'non-medic' problems. Guest guest
I just visited your site. I found it easy to navigate, refreshingly free of visual gimmicks like frames, the graphics enhanced the text instead of being there for their own sake, the text was in very easily read colours, the type face you've used (I'd like to know what it is, it looks like Arial) is very clean and easy on the eyes, the text is informative without being patronising and the site loads quickly - a model of an easy to use, above all, useful website - I'm not being flattering I genuinely think it's a fine site - I do a lot of searching for sites with medical info and most of them are crap - yours makes a refreshing change. Live long and prosper > hi everyone, > > I am in the proces of doing a multimedia course for college. In it I am creating a website. Its all about my girlfriends condition. Guest guest
Stephane, You have done a very nice job on your web site... I was able to understand it as a lay person, and that's important to us when we are trying to find an article on the disease we are looking up. Most medical sites are hard to understand, yours wasn't. Your girlfriend should be very proud of you. Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for the site. I just finished reading it and found it very informative. Guest guest
Kay: I just checked the site and it looks like the site has gone thru a major overhaul!! Maybe that's why you had trouble loggin in. There is also a Club: http://clubs./clubs/reedmartinspecialedlaw You don't need an invitation to join, it's an open club. This club is more active for parent input and posting questions. I lurk there every so often too just to see what problems other parents are having around the country and maybe learn something so I can avoid the same situation for my guys. Even tho your kids are not three, I think it's good to know about these advocacy and information sites beforehand. I can't believe some of that. Anyway one of the Drs pointed out that they give out www.immunize.org/stories to their undecided patients. They are very hard to read.....but is the idea that the reactions are more common right? And that vaxed kids aren't necessarily protected? The Dr said " Since many of the patients who refuse immunizations do so because of stories about kids who had possible or real vaccine complications, giving them stories about the diseases that the vaccines prevent can help counter the anti-vaccine info. Guest guest
The woman who posted the link and whom I quoted is in the current PedTalk archive, message dated 5/8/01 entitled " Immunization Refusal " . What I'd really like feedback from though is the www.immunize.org/stories site that she recommends. I found it hard to read because of course it is every parent's worst fear, to lose or nearly lose a child...which of course is what makes the decision so hard to make, at least for me!!! Though notedly there seemed to be a whole lot less entries there than for those who have had vaccine reactions on so many other sites. > Which one(s) are you referring to? Guest guest
http://www.tetrahedron.org/articles/vaccine_awareness/ingredients.html http://www.cdc.gov/nip/publications/pink/VaxCont.pdf I found these by typing the word ingredients in the search box on my site. Perhaps you guys could try my site first - before asking? I spend a lot of time getting this information so it is available to you, but it doesn't make sense for me to have to find it as well. (Unless you have tried and couldn't find it, of course.) Those of you who are new to the groups, please familiarize yourself with my website: www.vaccinationnews.com. Guest guest
The fact that this person doesn't even include his or her name shows the caliber of the person speaking. (Although perhaps it is somewhere else on the site?) Anyway, the points he or she makes are refutable. Just because he says the evidence is overwhelming doesn't make it true. And the idea that even if you can't trust the source of information, if it is well-documented - jeez, what's that supposed to mean? Lies can be trusted, as long as they are well documented? It's unfortunate that people like him/her refuse to pay attention to the most obvious problem with the information, that it is bought and paid for by those who serve to gain from it. He/she doesn't trust the government? Then why is he/she citing it's paper on the subject? And a doctor friend and I have spent some time refuting the Australian document (by the way, where is it?). Perhaps my doctor friend will make it available. As far as his Y2K argument, okay, because the world didn't turn out to be flat, vaccines are safe. (By the way, it wasn't scammers who were concerned - a lot of money was spent trying to avoid the problem. We'll never know if it wasn't a problem in the first place, because much was done to prevent it being a problem. However, even the government and big business was concerned enough to spend mega dollars on this.) My advice is don't waste too much time on this stuff. Guest guest
I actually got this link from a friend of mine...it made me crazy reading it, and figured it wasn't even worth my time to read, (or my friend's for that matter!). Guest guest
<<This site is run by Quackwatch...doesn't hold much credibility with me, personally. Need I say more??>> Umm, I'm not defending their vaccine stance, as I disagree with it, but this site is not run by Quackwatch. The main site is a homeschool science curriculum, and the only reference to Quackwatch is some links that are included. We need to be careful to get our facts straight, so that we do not fall into the trap they have. M. in Michigan
Guest guest
, Check out the site http://www.aarda.org. Let me know if this works correctly. I don't have the URL memorized but I try. The info there that they have may also give you some ideas. Also check out http://www.invisibledisabilities.com to see if there's anything there that might give you some ideas. There are so many auto-immune disorders out there that I can't think of them all but the few I do know of are: Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, and a few others I can't think of right now. I hope that this helps. ===== Kristy http://www.geocities.com/sokokl/kristyspersonalpage.html Hoping to be a nurse soon but for now just a Medical Secretary who does a lot of learning from reading on the Net, books, my dr(s), as well as sharing my own personal experiences. __________________________________________________
