Guest guest
: My name is Millie and I've been considering the RNY with Dr. Aceves for some time now. As Nina might attest to. . I am very cautious and even though I haven't taken the step to go down and visit with Nina and Dr. Aceves. . I have been following your success very closely. I believe you are the only RNY patient that posts to this site from Dr. Aceves' group. I have been working on getting the money together for the surgery as well as reading and learning as much as I could about the procedure and the after affects. I'm 5'4 and weigh about 330 lbs. YUK, YUK, YUK!!!!!! I'm in desperate mode and don't know if I can live with myself much longer with this weight!!! Every day is a challenge getting out of bed and facing the mirror that tells the story of how irresponsible I've become with what should be the most important thing in the world. . MYSELF!! I salute your courage and your ability to continue with your struggle in spite of the challenges you've faced. Undoubtedly, given your posts. . I'm sure you would not change a thing, if given the opportunity. . . however, what, if anything would you do differently if you had to do it over again? This goes for any of the other RNY patients, if any. . . I'm just wanting to do things as right as humanly possible when I finally do it myself. You are all a great inspiration to me and I salute all of you for your weight loss, determination and courage!! Millie
Guest guest
Yes we do, have 2 more! I I asked the programmers to go into this group and take the picture for the "before" and "In progress" pictures so if you put them here I will ask them to go in to your folder and put them up. we have many patients interested int eh RNY surgery, hope you do to mind all the questions I am glad you are feeling better, youa right abou the money part, at least this is healthier . I don't know what it is about flour that makes me vomit. Yuck!My clinical nudes are really starting to show a difference. I'm doing them each month on my surgery date, and I can now see a big difference from before surgery and now.For my fellow RNY patients, I am doing some things that I think are really helping with how I feel and with my weight loss. I don't eat much. It's hard for me to eat, but I am becoming fanatical about vitamins and protein shakes. They really seem to help me feel better and keep the weight loss going. I notice that when I don't do protein shakes for a few days, the loss stalls. When I start back on them I lose a chunk of weight all at once! The biggest problem is that it is wickedly expensive to import them here to Jamaica. Oh well! Guest guest
Hey, both look good. I like the color combinations on the bandgastricbypass.com page better. But I have always been partial to hunter green. Curtis loves the fact that they are using the picture he took of you on your profile page. Great, now he has a big head thinking he is some great photographer. Guest guest
Foxx, Using this reply to get a message to you. How do I sign off the listserve for three weeks when I am out of the country and don't want my mailbox stuffed? Would like to reconnect when I return. Also, we could plan whatever classes you might like to schedule in Boston area when I return end of June. Much appreciated, Mark website Gateway was shut down again this afternoon, appears to be up again, altho I haven't gotten an all clear message from them yet.Foxx
Guest guest
Mark, Best way is to go the the list home-page (groups/ ) and click the link to Edit Membership.in the upper left of the page. On the ensuing page, choose " No E-Mails " . This way you won't have to leave the group and come back, and you'll be able simply to re-activate the messages when you get back. Guest guest
, Having just returned 2 weeks ago from my myotomy by Dr. Rice, I can attest that the Cleveland Clinic (which they call CCF for Cleveland Clinic Foundation) is a wonderful facility filled to the rafters with caring people and the latest achalasia treatments. While sometimes it seemed like I was handling my own care as I walked from area to area for the required testing, there were many red- coated workers alone the way to make sure that we weren't lost, didn't need a wheelchair, or just to give an extra smile. There was only one nurse who didn't react as quickly as my pain demanded, but since it was 3am and the facility was experiencing a power outage, I forgive her. I won't kid you, the 3 hour drive seems VERY LONG on the way home. But it was worth it to get the best care possible. And feeling like I now have a medical team who really DOES want my esophagus to last a lifetime, or at least as long as possible, is priceless. And you're right - the website was a big help, although we didn't use the conseirge services. in Michigan

Guest guest
Hi Tammy, The page was not found, but I started cutting and pasting portions of the excerpt ypu posted earlier. I did eventually run across it. I saved the PDF to my hard drive for myself and anyone else interested in the full article. I find it very interesting, particularly since the symptoms and IG panel / MV levels for each patient in the study were very well charted...I will take it to my doc. The full title is " Clinical and Molecular Variation in childhood periodic fever with hyperimmunoglobulinaemia D " by Frenkel, Houten, & et al. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to know more about HIDS and how the symptoms and labs vary. If anyone wants the PDF, please email me and I will send it as an attachment. Thanks again! It is way more time-consuming than I thought and it will be a month or more until I am caught up. To make matters worse, I fell off a step ladder and tore the ligaments at the back of my knee. Groan...hurt... Needless to say my family has learned some new words. And I will be thinking twice about wallpapering my girlfriend's kitchen next time. Hope everyone will be patient. This is a volunteer thing with my time and my expense and it's got to fit in with my work and family responsibilities. I promise I'll get there but it's going to take me time.
