Fruit Punch and Yogi Tea

We're revamping our recipes and I'm posting Warren's famous Fruit Punch to

make it easier to put into our new links. However it's always good to hear

about it again.

Another idea in the same vein are the Yogi teas (which are delicious).

They come in all flavors and are delicious. There's even a green tea which

is decaffinated. Look for them in Fresh Fields. I love 'em.

Fruit Punch (Warren )

Here is an idea that has been golden for me. The idea has really helped to

empower CR.

My personal CR experience is that making a quart of fruit punch to drink

every hour or two, using maybe 1 or 2 tsp of 100% whole fruit

juice concentrate per quart water (orange, grape, apple cherry, etc... total

of 10 to 20 calories), sweetened pleasurably with Sucralose to taste,

makes CR 100% easier. The punch has only so very few calories, but tastes

just delicious -- almost as good as the real juice.

I avoid temptation to eat, and the fruit punch supplies a very tiny number

of very important, critical calories to keep my brain function and

alertness high -- without the need to eat.

Hi, I am another newbie...and I have a quick question....

What at the 100% juice concentrates referenced in the fruit punch recipe? I am not sure that I have seen them in the grocery store. Thanks!

Sucralose fruit Punch (12 calories per quart).

Put one tsp of no-sugar-added grape juice concentrate

(or orange juice concentrate, apple juice, etc) into

a quart of water (with ice cubes), add several drops of

Sucralose, and create a healthy low-calorie drink better

than any diet soda. This fruit punch recipe has become

very popular, because it tastes as good and sweet as

regular fruit juice -- but without the sugar, and

without the calories.

Listing of 100% juice concentrate flavors:

1) orange

2) purple grape

3) apple

4) cherry-apple

5) kiwi-apple

6) mango-apple

7) raspberry-apple

8) strawberry-apple

9) pineapple-orange

10) white grape

11) pear-apple

12) pineapple

Fruit juice concentrates are usually concentrated

in a 1 to 4 ratio, and the ones you want to buy

are the ones that say " 100% fruit Juice " .

I prefer to use Sucralose (rather then Splenda) because

it is 3 1/2 times less expensive per unit of sweetening

power. Sucralose also has zero calories, while Splenda

contains maltodextrin, fillers, and other additives.

However, Sucralose is a bulk commercial product, and

not sold in stores. I happen to have it on hand and

make it available to others on an experimental basis

for recipe manufacture and development, only because

someone else secured an industrial contract to

purchase it.

To try out the recipe, use Splenda. Only if you use

a lot of Splenda (a dollar or two a week) would it be

worthwhile to contact me (off list, privately only)

in order to try out Sucralose rather than Splenda.

You may also be able to find Sucralose direct on

the Internet, if you look around too.

Thanks Francesca ! One question. When you say fruit juice

concentrate, do you mean frozen fruit juice in the frozen freezer in

the store; that you mix with water.

And is Sucralose and Splenda the same thing. ??

Many, many thanks.

As I understand what Warren means, yes.

What I like about thr fruit punch (and my personal favorite the yogi teas

which I recently discovered) is that they're soooo easy (and the tea, esp.

the green tea, is a health food) and of course delicious. Our other

suggestions (in the files) such as guar pudding and satietrol are a bit more

complicated to make and expensive.
