Guest guest
I am collecting ( & receiving) some of the most heartfelt messages paying tribute to the genius and courage of Dr. Roy L. Walford, the now deceased founding father of the modern Calorie Restriction Movement. Some tribute messages are from the news media, some are contained on other email lists, some are off the Internet, and some are in newspapers and magazines. Are we allowed to post tribute messages here? We all loved our pioneer-adventurer CR Father. I thought, maybe every day or two, I might post such a message (if no one else posted one). I will never ever tire of these messages, even when I lie down on my deathbed, but others may see differently. Note: Some tribute messages are just short ones, some longer. Some messages come from ALL the CR related lists, and some from Lists not related to CR too, as well as messages from various sources and authorities who call Dr. Walford the most extreme of the extremists (I love these types of messages). I would post messages that might be alarmist or even anti-CR, or that show bias and prejudice, as well as opinionated ones. And if some wanted to post anonymously, then I would be happy to post those too, since some of those are emotion filled. All these message types (I believe) are the greatest tribute of all, in retrospect, testifying to the greatness of this hero scientist-researcher, who confounded his peers, and who had the courage to pursue (and document, and popularize) an " extremist " health program, despite raised eyebrows from his researcher peers, and despite a torrent of criticism from the media, who often condemned him for his extremism -- a true mark of courage and genius for a modest man who seldom hit back. Dr. Walford " could take it " , until ALS finally took him. -- Warren
