Yesterday I had what appeared to be the stomach flu and has a few bouts of vomiting (stop here if you are queasy.)

What I vomited up yesterday morning was what I had eaten earlier the previous evening: Wasa high fiber crackers.

While worshipping the porcelain goddess (AKA toilet), the thought crossed my mind: Does fiber remain in stomach longer than other foods?

Bernie: straight off, I don't have an answer to your question; in fact I

have one for you - how CRONed are you? Are you still in the initial

stages? The reason I ask is that I was plagued with this kind of stomach

bug (awful!) once or twice a year before CRON. Now that I look back on it,

I was sick a lot (although probably about as much as your average person).

Since CRON 4+ years ago, I haven't had any stomach bugs. I've had maybe one

mild cold. IOW I hardly get sick anymore - knock wood!. When newbies often

ask if us veterans feel any different, I always answer: I really don't feel

much different than before i.e. I don't have that feeling of " well being "

that Walford talks about - BUT I rarely get sick anymore.

For me that's worth everything!!!

During my 2.5 years of CR I've never had a cold. This is

particularly notable to me since I've been in close proximity

(living, working, and going to school) with so many people who have

had colds during that time. On several occasions they've sneezed in

my breathing space and I can't move away and I'm thinking " Now I'll

get a cold for sure, " but I didn't. I used to get a cold when others

around me had them, but so far it seems like I've become immune.

While I can't infer from this that eating less has improved my

immune system, it seems that it has not suppressed it.
