Guest guest
You shouldn't expect much change until you get a proper fill. There is no " should " at this point, though practicing as much possible on all the appropriate bandster behaviors (small portions, small bites, chewing well, eating good foods, no liquid calories, etc) will help you when you do get tightened up. Are you exercising yet? That's vital too. Finally, remember, the goal isn't to see how MUCH you can get past the band, but how LITTLE you can eat (within reason, or course). Just because you can doesn't mean you should. dan Monday, January 28, 2008, 10:42:11 AM, you wrote: > I had my lapband procedure on Dec 6,07. I have not had a fill yet. Guest guest
Hi, and welcome! These are among the many things your doc and his staff should be going over with you and teaching you about, so you don't worry and know what to expect. The band does not work well until we get to a good fill level. If needed, you can begin fills about 6 weeks after surgery. Until then, yes, it's very normal to feel little if any difference. it takes most people 3-5 monthly fills to get to a good fill level, of slow and gradual fills. THEN, serious weight loss will begin, IF you have put into place the other things that YOU must contribute to the " success formula " -the better exercise, the much better food choices, the extra no-calorie fluids, and much more. You might want to read the Band Guide in the files that covers many of these things. WE'll be happy to help you learn more, but it is primarily your doc's respomsibility to teach you the many things needed - or to refer you to someone who can. Dust is the accumulation of very fine particulates, the kind that you can sometimes see floating around the air when the light streams through the windows late afternoon. Guest guest
Hey nne, I've had a scs for go on 5 yrs and I have the same problem you with my scs, when it gets to where I don't feel too much from the scs I call and have them re-program my scs. Try it and see if it helps, any time that I don't feel the stimulation very well I will call and have the scs re-programed, it's their job to keep you happy with the scs! Hope this helps! Guest guest
nne, Do you have a technician to adjust your programs? That was one of my problems. Also talk to the doctor about it. Your leads could have moved. He may need to do an x-ray to determine if they have moved and if you need them adjusted. If you have programs...contact the stimulator representative about new programs or adjustments to the ones you have. It is common that the intensity can vary based on your position, but you shouldn't have to be working so hard to even feel it or get any effect from it. I would definetely look into it..... Guest guest
It kills both. But since it is generally used topically as an antiseptic, it only kills bacteria locally, unlike antibiotics, which kill bacteria all over your body. I'm not sure about low doses taken orally though. Obviously low levels of iodine don't kill ALL bacteria, or seawater would be totally sterile. I expect it's like salt: low levels of salt tend to kill bacteria that cause food-borne illness mainly, but high levels of salt kill anything. Iodine tends to concentrate in tissues, like your nose, that often get infected though, so your body might use it to fight pathogens in general. Guest guest
I too thought hypothyroid was hypothyroid. If you need thyroid hormone replacement, they you are hypothyroid. However, I do believe that some doctors do refer to 'mild hypothyroidiosm' if you have borderline results. But, we know that having borderline results is one heck of an achievement when the majority of us have 'normal' results, even with many of the horrendous symptoms and signs. You could write your own letter to the DLA about your symptoms and signs and what medication you are taking and the effect this is having on your life. Guest guest
HC is hydrocortisone - it is a prescription for a hormone that is created by the adrenals. Iodine actually heals the adrenals. For some it is an issue at higher doses and for others not. For me it was not. I started right at 50 mgs and supported my adrenals with a glandular (Biotics Research Cytozyme AD) all through my start. Guest guest
There are a few adrenal articles on www.iodine4health.com Iodine is in every gland and mucosal lining in the body. It is necessary. When not there the gland will run suboptimally. Steph Re: QUESTION > Would be interested in reading the research to support the comment > that Iodine heals the adrenals.
