Guest guest
I have been using Coconut oil on my face for two years, and it does not clog pores. Why would you use any other skin care product? I use it to remove my eye-makeup, Then I wash my face, and afterward I apply it to my face. My skin is smooth, and flawless. It's the only thing I moisturize with , and I highly recommend it. I also had a slight fungus on my foot. I applied coconut oil for 1 week and has cleared since. My skin is smooth, and itch free. Hope this is helpfull!! > > Does anyone know if it's true that when using coconut oil on your skin it > will eventually clog pours so when using other skin care products they will > not absorb properly. Guest guest
My thinking is if you find you have a brand that clogs pores, then switch brands because it is not processed right. CO is a perfect oil. It is a food. Your skin will eat it. It should not clog anything, it should clear your pores and nourish your skin. I have never found it to do anything negative to me. You can trust this oil. ________________________________ From: Iselda <iselmr@...> I have been using Coconut oil on my face for two years, and it does not clog pores. Guest guest
Hi lk, I'm soon to be 48, and my face use to be combination or almost oily when younger, it started to get dry, but seems lately it's changing, getting better. I've always been a big water drinker, and take a lot of supplements, my fish and krill oil, but maybe the coconut oil I'm now eating is making a difference? I've also added a few other new things to my diet; HGH Renewal advanced, (got at vitacost.com) and their Natural Astaxanthin, although I've taken that for over a month or more, it's an antioxidant. I also added another new one, Emerald Sea, from emerald express, but I've always taken my greens. So I don't know if that would do anything. I also have been drinking Acai berry, they have buy one get one free right now http://www.amazonthunder.com/ I start my mornings with water and lemon and take Neo Cell Collagen,( take on empty stomach) then about 25-30 min, drink water with perfect food powder( by Garden of Life) add flax meal too. (I also have a large cup of some type of green tea, Holy basil pomegranate much of the time.) Then do my work-out, then after work-out, drink protein powder and liquid glucosamine and my vitamins and supplements. (no calcium until evenings, does not absorb as good when taken with vitamins, and its calming for evenings). Hyaluronic acid, collagen and 2000mg glucosamine is said to help skin and joints. Whatever I'm doing, maybe a little of all of it? Seems to be helping my face anyway. On my face I've used several different products, just keep trying things that have good ingredients. ( You should try a hyaluronic acid serum, it will help hold moisture) I'm going to try the " Functional Keratin Cynergy TK skin care products " because the protein in them may help the skin elasticity. We'll see? I have people tell me I look like I'm in my 30's, but I can see the bad places that have appeared. Neck or under chin, thighs, upper arms, skin on those places is not looking too great. Some say workout, build muscle, (I do, I have muscle) that don't work for me. If you or anyone knows something that will help lose skin on those places please let me know. I do put coconut oil on my dogs neck where he's scratched his hair off a few years ago, when he had allergies, all his hair came back but on his neck. Gideon loves it and eats it too, along with greens, fish oil and my probiotics, He looks good except the neck, But the coconut oil seems to help his skin. You may already know all this stuff I told you, hope something I said will benefit you. Guest guest
I use Nativa organic extra virgin. I love it. Years past I tried Garden of Life brand, I never got into it and quit it. I just recently started getting into coconut oil again a couple months ago. I have rubbed some on my skin, and I think I used too much, because I was oily. I mostly put it on my dogs bald spot under his neck. And rub into my hands. I’m a hairstylist and my hands are NOT my best feature! They get dry and look older than they are. How is the coconut oil on saggy skin, like upper arms and thighs, under chin, that are losing elasticity? Guest guest
CO is pretty much just a medicinal oil. It will not do anything for saggy arms and thighs. Nothing but good ole exercise will bring elasticity back into places that have lost elasticity. Wish it were easier, but its not. ________________________________ From: llje <llje@...> I use Nativa organic extra virgin. I love it. Guest guest
Ok, bummer…I was hopping. As I do exercise, and walk too, have for years, but that does not seem to help my skin. I have good muscle tone, but the skin has gotten worse with age. I also have spider veins, trying to work on them, and my legs have always swelled from standing in one place at work,( even when I sit at the computer for a while) which may have been a contributor to it all. But why my inner upper arm skin is starting to look like it does I don’t know, except age? Working with women (I’m a Hair stylist)all day, I hear others complain about their arms too. I think 27 years of working in hair sprays etc. all the resins etc… probably contributes to any health issues that come up too. Not saying it’s making skin loose it’s elasticity, but it may not help either. Guest guest
VCO is the only thing I have used on my face for 12 years. I use odorless bar soap for shaving and apply VCO after shaving and before bed. So far it has warded off any age spots and I willsoon be 72. Also use it for sunscreen (12 years). My skin was starting to look really ragged, and a few months ago, I started on MSM - LOTS of MSM. I've been taking anywhere from 2 to 4 heaping tablespoons per day (one at a time, so, one tablespoon, 2-4times per day), and my skin has improved DRAMATICALLY in just these last 2-3 months, and ALL of my joint aches and pains are GONE. So, my recommendation: buy a good quality MSM flakes, and start mega dosing with it. the best way to take it is just a heaping tablespoon in the mouth, sip some water, swish it around until the coolness is gone and it is mostly dissolved, then swallow it, then sip more water, swish, swallow, repeat... Doing it this way, there is virtually no after taste (it can be quite bitter if you allow yourself to taste it while doing this, so be sure to not taste it)... Guest guest
My husband was always a big water drinker, I wasn't then, but I do try to do better now that I am drinking " Hexagonal Water " , but my husband's skin was always so dry, and mine was just normal to dry, but working as an Esthetician for over 30yrs. I took care of it very well. I do think you can overdo it with water, as it can wash a lot of the B vitamins right out of the body, which are really good for the skin along with other vitamins and minerals. I think the best thing for the body, including the face of course is getting a lot of greens in the diet, and Aloe Vera. I chop it up and put it into cranberry juice and drink every day.It is just great, and I take Vit D3 10,000 units for five days, and 5,000 for the remaining two days of the week. ________________________________ From: llje <llje@...> Coconut Oil Sent: Tue, May 17, 2011 7:29:53 PM Subject: RE: Re: Question Hi lk, I'm soon to be 48, and my face use to be combination or almost oily when younger, it started to get dry, but seems lately it's changing, getting better. Guest guest
, frankly I think washing out nutrients from the body does not occur. Nutrients and minerals are tightly controlled, determined mainly by the kidneys, which are very selective about what they filter out. The body does not jettison nutrients willingly; quite the reverse, it scavenges them until we read an actual excess. all good, Duncan > > My husband was always a big water drinker, I wasn't then, but I do try to do > better now that I am drinking " Hexagonal Water " , but my husband's skin was > always so dry, and mine was just normal to dry, but working as an Esthetician > for over 30yrs. Guest guest
Lori, Coconut oil's melting point is 76F. It would be hard to clog the pores; even if you apply the solid coconut oil it would melt on top of your skin. It is absorbed by the skin and moves to our muscles etc., healing on the way. > > >
Guest guest
Why not make your own healthy skin cream? Olive oil (Costco brand the one made in California is said to be pure genuine Olive Oil; Naturlift and Nature lines from (www.texasnaturals.com), urea and allantoin (www.soapgoods.com). Use only two 2% of the urea and allantoin. All are safe ingredients. You might want to use Bradleys skin cleanser which i find very effective, colloidal silver 75%, DMSO 10% and glycerin 15%. Clean your face very well as this contains DMSO which takes everything inside the skin into your system. Apply this using cotton ball, avoid eyes. Wait until it has dried then add The above olive oil moisturizer very thinly all over the face. Literally, better than botox.
Guest guest
Do you recommend any particular brand of MSM? I've used www.msm-msm.com before and it seems very high quality but would be kind of expensive for Mega-dosing. A great post you made, it may save my Mom's existence. > > Hi Taanstaafl and others. > > I am glad to see someone else verifying what I have been saying here and elsewhere for many years. With this a very simple and cheap preventive, we can literally do away with almost all joint replacement therapy, back pain, and osteoarthritis, while reducing rheumatoid arthritis to manageable levels. What's more, the internal healing that you don't know about right off is that it softens calcified arteries and blood vessels, making them pliable, reducing the heart's pumping effort while reducing blood pressure. All the while, you simply look much better. Your finger and toe nails begin to soften and your hair and skin take on new life. > > One precaution: you must be careful with starting the mega-dosing too > quickly, because the other benefit of MSM is that it frees heavy metals > and toxins from the body (most likely, reducing the chances of getting cancer). That is a good thing, long term, but short term when you release toxins stored in your body fat too quickly, they can make you ill. So you don't want to take too much starting out. Start with teaspoons and graduate to tablespoons. Taanstaafl is doing it > correctly as described in the post below. Certainly, a 1/2 cup per day is not too much. > > As others verify these rather dramatic benefits, please post them here as Taanstaafl has. Tell others... get the word out. Alternative Health Forums like this one can change quickly medicine as we know it. > Allopathic, drug driven medicine, commonly passed on as healing does not work and it is ruining our health in the process, while preventive, food based medicine does. Our bodies inherently know how to heal themselves when we give them the correct nourishment combined with exercise This protocol is just one area that we can prove it. When we are > successful, I am sure that the people employed by the currently rich > drug companies can find other, more productive, forms of employment > Creating a world of people bound to pain management and drug dependency need not be one of them. Too bad, also, about those surgeons who now earn millions of dollars a year replacing joints with stainless steel substitutes with their guaranteed service lives > > Have you ever considered what happens when an artificial hip or knee > joint fails? Picture walking along with absolutely no pain (our > natural warning system does not extend to stainless steel joints) when suddenly the bearing point fails and you fall in a shambles on the sidewalk with absolutely nothing holding the failed joint in place. Does MSM sound like a better way to you? It does to me. > > Kind Regards, > Jim
