Guest guest
Pam, Try something like wheat berries, alfalfa ... just make sure what ever you're sprouting is organic or has not gone thru any processes... otherwise it won't sprout.. I've had sunflower seeds, different batches.. some sprouted while some other brands didn't.. SuziPee Tee <peetee1965@...> wrote: Thanks Don,Thanks for the input. Flax really slimes up, and I mean it REALLY slimes !I never knew what mucilage was, except for that over the counter stuff called Mucilage (i think).Guess I'll have to try sprouting something else instead. The flax was a big pain in the butt not to mention a huge dissapointment for a first time sprouting endeavor.Pam_____________________________________________________--Hi Pam,Yes they are. People used to sprout in jars before all the fancysprouters came out. As to the flax seeds, well they contain a lot ofmucilage (like okra) and I really have never tried sprouting them so Ican't answer that one but they sure are good even when soaked.--Peace, love and light,Don Quai"Spirit sleeps in the mineral, breathes in the vegetable, dreams in the animaland wakes in man."_________________________________________________________________MSN 9 Dial-up Internet Access helps fight spam and pop-ups – now 2 months FREE! http://join.msn.click-url.com/go/onm00200361ave/direct/01/

These all work really well. There are lots of others that sprout pretty good too. -- Peace, love and light, Don Quai " Spirit sleeps in the mineral, breathes in the vegetable, dreams in the animal and wakes in man. Guest guest
Also, Handry pantry has a website and you can find their products at lots of HFS's. http://www.handypantry.com/pk4/store.pl?section=7 I get alot of my stuff like mung, sunflower, lentils and grains in the bulk section of my Co-op. They have a great selection and i can get as much or as little as i like and they have organic stuff. Guest guest
Pam, check this link out...it has links to HFS's in Oregon (you'll have to scroll down to OR) http://www.greenpeople.org/healthfood.htm I'd do some price comparison before relying on Whole Foods. I like Whole Foods for some stuff, but feel that they have become quite commercial in what they carry (and now include yucky foods on their shelves as a convenience!) and their prices are a bit high. I shop all other resources before i buy from my local Whole Foods just to be sure i am not paying too much. Sylvia > > > Thanks Suzi - > > > I knew you would recommend .
