Guest guest
I, too, am relatively new to CRON (about 2 months into it) and I can share my experience with you (which may not be the same as others.) My motto is gradual and focused on optimum nutrition. I'm a vegetarian, and there's a phrase in the vegetarian community: French fry vegetarians, i.e., folks who don't eat animal products, but do eat tons of other junk instead. I think with CRON it is very easy to fall into a version of French fry vegetarian, i.e., cutting calories drastically but not eating foods which are high in nutrition. I'd advise educating yourself on foods which pack the biggest nutritional punch for the fewest calories. It is generally safe to say that those are unprocessed or minimally processed plant foods. And, among those the best (generally speaking) are vegetables and fruits, particularly those with strong colors: deep green, deep orange, deep blue and purple. My daily goal is 10 servings of veggies/fruits with those characteristics a day. I've found if I achieve that goal, my total number of daily calories per day hovers around 1,500 per day. Yes, there are days when I just have to have a bagel and I let myself have a " planned indulgence " once a week. CRONING is about a lifestyle, not about deprivation.
