Guest guest
Ok. Fair enough. And just how many people eat Brazil nuts every day at all? The only ones I know that do are CRONIES. And if they read Walford, they wouldn't be eating 3 a day. What I responded to was the statement that all Brazil nuts weren't created equal, (which of course we can't control) - so why fret about it. Folks we are not talking about iodine anymore - so please respect the change in subject. on 3/25/2004 2:39 PM, Rodney at perspect1111@... wrote: > Hi Francesca: > > In my opinion it is not fanatical to try to make sure one's > consumption of some nutrient is not above the Academy of Sciences' > safe upper limit for that nutrient over an extended period. Guest guest
Walford rec's (pg 166 - 120 yr), 1 or 2 nuts per day to get 200 mcg, but if I guess that a nut is 1/7 oz, a single nut could have 10 times that much. My fret is that brazil nuts are touted, but are not a reliable source for perhaps a critical element that can be easily overdosed.
