Guest guest
IMHO as long as the food industry infuses processed foods with: sugar salt trans fats corn syrup and all the other junk they use to make their product " taste better " , these diets will not be successful for the average person. It's too easy to grab any old thing off the shelf, or drive into a Mcs and scarf down a big Mac. People want convenience and taste. on 4/14/2004 10:01 AM, old542000 at apater@... wrote: > Hi All, > > From the NY Times this morning, but not my diet choice, is: > > http://www.nytimes.com/2004/04/14/dining/14SOUT.html?th > > Doctor Wants 'South Beach' to Mean Hearts, Not Bikinis > By ALEX WITCHEL > > Published: April 14, 2004
Guest guest
I think the reason that the Fat gram style of diet failed was the food industry. After all Jelly beans (or some other bad low fat choice) have no fat. I see the same thing in the atkins sphere. Some of these products are so sweet (with malitol) and calorie laden that I see a lack of success for someone eating within their carbo range but using these products. I am still doing atkins, but I still eat fruit as well. With low carb milk and low carbo yogurt as my base I have a fruit smoothie at least once a day to replace one meal. I also add soy protein. I really like the food pyramid in Wolford's book. I think it represents the kind of diet I will transition into even if I decide not to CR. First the next 20 lbs. positive Dennis Francesca Skelton wrote: IMHO as long as the food industry infuses processed foods with: sugar salt trans fats corn syrup and all the other junk they use to make their product "taste better", these diets will not be successful for the average person. Guest guest
Hi Francesca: What you are saying is that the majority of people are far more motivated to satisfy their whim of the moment than they are about preserving their health. That is not rational, and it needs to change. Rodney. (I still have that image in my mind of JW's double-wide doors!) " .............
