Now, that gets a bit loose when you try to determine what " normal " body weight should be. For a male, age 43, 5'11 " , your BMI of 23 places you squarely in the U.S. guidelines for a normal range of 19-25 (which would span the weight range of 136-179 for you.) Essentially, I suppose, you need to decide for yourself what you consider to be a " normal " setpoint weight for you and then determine what is 10-15% below that. Using common sense, of course, meaning that if you feel uncomfortable (cold, trouble sleeping, low energy, frequent colds or flu) at a certain weight, you may want to up your intake a bit.
