Guest guest
Hi, Lizzie and All, Yes, it is true there are many ways you can clean and clear stones. And I find that 2 weeks is about what it takes for most of my stones to need cleaned, personally, especially when they are new. I imagine this differs a bit from person to person and from stone to stone. (Cleaning and clearing are not the same thing, tho last night it was late and I just wanted to get to bed so I didn't go into this in detail. I just meant the post to inform that stones have needs. ) I used to clean most of my crystals and stones under tap water about every 2 weeks (depends on the stone--some need cleaned every few days/ some need cleaned rarely.) I began to think that wasn't working well after awhile due to water impurities. I have good feelings with stones/ crystals as Lizzie said, when they are freshly cleaned and cleared. But, according to how much they are absorbing from you and the atmosphere you are in, is how often they need cleaned and cleared. You begin to feel emfs radiating off of them when they need cleaned; or sometimes the stone just has a dead feeling. For me, personally, stones like onyx and unakite can only go a few days without cleaning. Amethyst needs very much less frequent cleaning (every 3 or 4 months), tho it does also purify the atmosphere. But I do not use it for a personal stone, only for atmosphere in a room, which might be the reason. There gets a point at which the stone/ crystal does not feel well to me after cleaning it. That is when it needs " cleared " . Clearing takes more time than cleaning. I leave it in nature until I feel really good around it again. By really good, I mean it feels refreshing to be around. You have to do research into what each stone/ crystal likes. Not all can be washed, not all can be left in sun...... In other words, do your own homework. Find the way you like to clean and clear and what each stone/ crystal likes. I often hang necklaces in the branches of my magnolia tree. I do this especially with onyx and unakite. However, I like taking my rose quartz and carnelian with me when I go walking and lay them (in cotton pouches) on the ground under a particular pine tree. I spend the day in the forest or hiking by the white water river there, and when I go home, I go and retrieve the necklaces. There is cleaned and there is vibrant. I try to keep my stones/ crystals vitalized and vibrant. Once you work with stones awhile, you will find this is easy to figure out. At first it sounds foreign. As for needing to be unpolished.... I find that personally not important--I have tried and use both. What is important is that it has not been polished with anything chemical added. When you buy stones, you need to ask about dyes and finishes. You do not want dyes or finishes. For instance, leopardskin jasper is a great stone to own for protection, but it is very hard to find one which has not been cut using petroleum oil. Petroleum oil infused stones are not healing. You just cannot go out to your nearest craft store and buy a stone. You have to also do homework into where you can trust you are buying a 100% natural one. I do not personally buy my stones from here, but this is a good site to learn the needs of stones used for healing purposes: http://www.gemisphere.com/map/gemstoneEnergyMedicine.htm Hope this works for you, Diane ________________________________ From: thode <lizt777@...> esens Sent: Wednesday, September 21, 2011 1:21 PM Subject: Using Crystals and Stones From: lizt777@... esens Subject: RE: My EHS story Date: Wed, 21 Sep 2011 13:18:02 -0400 Regards clearing crystals. There are many ways to do this. One way is simply hold the crystal in your hand, and use your " intentions " to clear the crystal. Another way is to put the crystal under running water. Although this assumes the water coming from the tap is clean; which can be problematic. Another is to find a healthy looking tree, and hold the crystal in your hand, while hugging the tree...this way only takes a few minutes. Unpolished as in their natural form crystals are the best kinds. The needs clearing every two weeks? There are many schools of thought on this. Guest guest
Hi All, and Diane, You are right, in that some stones should not cleansed using water...personally, I think most stones do like the sun. Many users of stones/crystals believe putting the stone in sunlight is beneficial for them. The sun helps to recharge them. I often clear/ cleanse my stones by Reiking them. However, I see much benefit in recharging stones known their ability to " ground " by hugging a tree...when " we " hug a tree, we become grounded (provided the tree is in a good area, free of geopathic stress), and so does the stone/crystal. It is a form of re-charging, much like the sun. I have done many House Cleansings/Clearings. There are cases where the house cannot or has not been physically cleaned. I can still do wonderfully successful House Cleansings/Clearings. Same process, two steps. First I clear the house of negative/dark energies, then I fill these now empty areas with positive energies. Thus, I am " clearing " and then I am cleansing and re-charging, which in the case of stones, would be " intentions " . It is unfortunate that many people do know realize how much power they hold within themselves. This is important not just in healing but also in many areas of life. Think a bout this: what if the person was homebound, and couldn't get to a pine tree, or any tree? What if they live in the desert? What if for whatever reason, they needed a way to both clear and cleanse (and in some circles, yes Diane, this is the same.) Then we reach within ourselves, to our own healing powers and we cleanse/re charge, the stone with our thoughts, which are themselves, very powerful, if only we knew just how powerful they really are.
