Hi everyone, glad I found this group. I've been on a calorie

restricted diet for 2.5 years, dropping from 153 to 130 lbs (15%

loss). The weight loss has been linear and slow. I'm 6'1 " and have

always been slender...and with a 23 pound loss I'm now very skinny.

I've slowly reduced my calorie consumption (I use DWIDP to track my

diet) from around 3000 cals/day to 1700 cals/day. But I still seem

to be loosing weight...so I'm planning on increasing to 1800/day

until my weight stabilizes--I don't really want to loose anymore.

I'm curious how my experience compares with everyone else's, and how

long can I expect it to take to be able to eat 1600-1700 cals/day and

NOT lose weight?! Thanks in advance, M

Some people react better to fermented foods than others,

just based on what I've gleaned from talking to people. It also

might depend though, on what is in the kimchi, and how sour

it is. The glutamic acid might be more prevalent when you

add fish to the kimchi, or meat. A very sour kimchi or kraut

might have more lactic acid, and one isomer of lactic acid

can be hard for some people to process. And eating a lot

of sour foods can cause tooth enamel problems for some

people.

But ... you can probably tell if it's getting along with you

or not. I can't say that in general you can " eat too much "

because there are people who eat mostly fermented

foods (like the folks who live off fermented mare's milk,

and shoot, the French, for that matter).
