Thanks.

Sounds like you have the same problems with the defs.

I just chose a regimen that got me lower, eating less food, and I can walk farther than probably 95% of Americans.

BMI is just another stat. I'm a little too short is all (ha).

I think a valuable stat is I can prick up my 215# son, and I can carry a 135# smart ass lady pilates trainer up a flight of stairs (age 68).

I have an exercise, sorta yogalike, that I do at odd times. It's to stand on my toes, knees bent (half crouch), arms to the front, while watching say the squirrels. For maybe 2 minutes at a time. Not a difficult position, but it holds a lot of muscles tensed and balancing. I hold the balance with my toes - not arm waving.

And I do it with a moderate lifestyle.

Regards,

Now, eating less is no challenge, losing weight is no challenge. Having someone to tell me what weight to get to - that's a challenge.>>>>>>>>>>>>>The "set point" is defined as the "weight toward which one naturally drifts if he or she neither under- nor overeats". The definition of "set point" is problematic because there are subjective variables. If you leave the table hungry are you undereating? If you eat an extra apple are you overeating? How much extra should you eat if you exercise vigorously? It may be better to identify your best weight on the basis of the maximum BMI that will decrease your chances of disease. In the CRON Science section of the FILES there is an informative spreadsheet.I don't know if it is advantageous to have a lower BMI, unless it provides longevity.
