Guest guest
I didn't say he died of pneu - they did. I wasn't disagreeing, just pointing out there is that other thing that we will have to overcome. And it happens even if we aren't weakened, aren't bedridden, don't have ALZ, ALS, a stroke, or senility. It's just assumed in a lot of cases we will eventually get pneumonia. Admittedly ALZ, ALS, senility, strokes, whatever are not fun, but what I'm hitting at is that there is this paradigm that it can't be worked. I don't see much work going on to find out why the lung tissue quits absorbing the fluid, even with a good heart. I not so sure it's an infection either. May be related to the reason some quit absorbing Oxygen. We will visit those paradigms, eventually. As we age, whether we get to a "condition" that cannot/has not been worked at 75 or 120 yo, someone will kiss us off as "not being worth the effort" so to speak. When I see my 85 yo ALS neighbor, I'm wondering why he's not trying something - l-carnitine, niacin, (just guessing). Of course he doesn't know to do that and neither does his wife. I'm sure Reagan had the best medical treatment available. Let's hope the paradigm shifts. Regards. ----- Original Message ----- From: Francesca Skelton Sent: Monday, June 14, 2004 1:48 PM Subject: Re: [ ] Reagans' Experience Alters Outlook forAlzheimer's Patients JW: pneumonia is very commonly the final insult to a body that is weakenedby disease or old age. Also common in bedridden oldsters (as Reagan was).To say that pneumonia was the reason Reagan died is simplifying acomplicated situation.on 6/14/2004 2:18 PM, jwwright at jwwright@... wrote:> Reagans' Experience Alters Outlook for Alzheimer's PatientsNot to disagree.> Many alternate diseases will become more important to us as we get older.
