Guest guest
When I read the Washington Post article about CRON dieting, I noticed that some practitioners were eating the same fare every day. This seemed like a good idea so I used the DWIDP software to obtain a 2000 calorie a day diet which appears to include more than adequate amounts of nutrients. This daily fare includes about 20 or so different kinds of foods which are carefully either weighed or measured. For example 6 cups of vegetables or 1/2 cup of mixed nuts or 3.5 ounces of chicken breast, etc. Make a few substitutions from day to day but the main fare remains pretty much the same from day to day. It's been rather difficult, in the past, to limit my food intake, due to a healthy and sometimes ravenous appetite. Got away with this type of appetite very well when I was running 35 or 40 miles a week. But unfortunately lately my stomach has been outrunning my legs by quite a large margin. So to keep myself honest on this diet I printed the DWIDP daily food list to a file, input it into Excel, and from there produced a matrix of foods versus days of the week. During the day whenever I eat something from my list I check it off. This way I always know how many calories I've eaten and can gage my " eating rate " for the day. I like to save most calories (2/3) for the latter part of the day, since by that time, my stomach/brain usually tell me that they are getting hungry. And still find myself bingeing occasionally, but as long as I continue to lose weight don't worry about it too much. A
