Leaner- I managed the GAP stores in my former life (before real estate)

and I know to convert women's jeans sizes to men's you add 22 " to the number

size. For example, a size 6 plus 22 " would give you a 28 inch waist in men's

sizes. Hope this helps :) cyn

Howdy. It's the " token vegetarian " musician of the group here, back

from gigs in Montana/Wyoming. My upper body day was on Friday, and

thanks to a's suggestions, I was able to complete a workout in my

hotel room (AND I'd only gotten 2 hours of sleep in 2 days AND traveled

12 hours (3 flight connections!). I'm still sore from the push-ups,

however.

My opinion about " fake " breakfast meats, and I've tried them all, is

that the Morningstar Farms " fake " bacon is definitely the best of the

bunch. And also the sausage patties and links. Other brands really

don't match in taste. Also, if you are on a tight budget (as I am),

you can visit their website (morningstarfarms.com) and request coupons.

I'm into my 2nd week, and I only lost 1 lb. And a pair of jeans

actually felt a little tight. Hmm... Is it ok to do some cardio on

weight training days? Sometimes I'm not ready to leave the gym!

Peace,

Jami

So, my questions are: is it ok to do cardio on weight training days?

and is it ok to do abs more than on lower body days? and is it REALLY

ok to eat whatever you want on the day off? Thanks. You guys are cool!

I am very surprised they would allow a stylus on the plane.

Assistive devices such as augmentative communication devices and Braille

note takers will go through the same sort of security screening process as

that used for personal computers. However, passengers that have special

equipment that cannot go through the x-ray machine should notify the

screeners and request a physical/visual inspection of the equipment. A slate

and stylus are permitted on board the aircraft after inspection; however, it

may be necessary to advise the security screener of the purpose of the slate

and stylus and that it facilitates the passenger's communications.

Unless a blind person needed to communicate with the slate and

stylus during flight, I would imagine it would stay in the checked

baggage to avoid any undue hassles.

The colder the x-ray table, the more of your body is required to be on

I've flown several times with different chairs so I've taken different types of

batteries and never had a problem. But I will say it is rare for them to store

your chair in the cabin though I have had it done only once. Usually they will

" gate check it " which means you can use it up to the door of the plane, then

they take it to store and then bring it up to the door right away for you to use

when exiting the aircraft.

I was very interested in purchasing the at'm chair you mentioned for various

reasons, but one being that I was hoping I could bring it on the plane as you

are suggesting. It does look like it can be made small enough to store with you

or possibly in the cabin, so you might have some luck there.

Have you used this chair a lot? I was curious as to how durable it is. It is

pretty sturdy for outdoor use? Thanks for any info you can share on the chair!

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has flown with a 17AH sealed lead acid battery or

anything similar. I'm thinking of going on a trip and that's the wheelchair

battery I have and I'm just want to know people's experiences. I called this

one number for disabled people and airlines and they didn't think it would be a

problem but I just want to make sure. I was also wondering what people's

experience with having their wheelchairs on board the plane? The person from the

hotline told me that they'd most likely store it in the cabin but a friend

of mine told me that that's rarely ever done. I'm most likely going to be

using an Invacare A'tm chair which is tiny and is easy to take apart. Thanks,

I've flown with Lead Acid batteries before and everything worked otu

fine. They stored the wheelchair in the cargo hold and I'm not sure

if they took the batteries out and stored them separately or not.

Only once when I flew was I aware that my wheelchair was partially

disassembled, which was probably just taking the batteries out.

I don't actually own one yet. I'm in the process of getting one but last

weekend I was able to test it out for a couple days and I was happy with it. It

handled well outside and indoors... it was extremely easy to take apart and

put in the car. I mean, it's no substitute for a regular heavy duty chair but

for something portable to use every now and then, it's great. When I saw the

pictures, I thought it didn't look too stable or sturdy but I felt safe in it.

For this trip, I'd be renting one since mine won't be here in time. My

friends even really like it. I'd suggest trying to find one in your area to try

out. It's worth seeing into. Thanks for your travel experience,

Deena

Every time I've flown, my motorized chairs were damaged. One time it

was in various pieces. I do not fly anymore.

I am assuming you are referring to liquid battery and not a dry cell.

If liquid the only problem I can think of would be if they stored the

chair on its side, which odds are would allow the acid to leak out. I

am not very familiar with the battery boxes on e~wc but I would guess

they arent sealed up good enough to hold an acid spill. I am sure these

batteries are far better built than normal automotive or heavy

equipment ones that I am used to dealing with, so the odds of a

sideways spill is probally very unlikely. Its the only worse case

senario I can think of. I am sure temperature change, shaking,

vibration etc wouldnt hurt its functioning. If this was to happen you'd

have to be prepared to be unable to use the chair untill it was

professionally nuetralized and cleaned up. If you do ever see some

leakage under normal situations they sell a spray cleaner for car

batteries to nuetralize the acid and make for safe clean up with paper

towels. It blows on red and turns orange when nuetral ( I might have

that backwards though.

Good luck on your trip

Mine were always damaged too. Now I just bring " manuel " (yes i named it lol).

I wish we could just drive our regular chairs and be strapped on the plane as

someone suggested earler. We have to see family in France when we can, but

flying is a major pain in the tush!!!
