All: please note the change in subject heading.

I understand the part about waiting til you're hungry because you're doing

what your body tells you. But where is the evidence that " digestion " puts a

strain on your body? Your digestive system is there to " do its' thing "

which is to digest. With all due regard to the Fuhrman fans among us,

please provide some hard scientific evidence .

Also I have high respect for Jeff Novick and his credentials. But wrt

fasting for long periods like two weeks: this would lead to rapid weight

loss (regardless of how " good " you feel) which in contraindicated by Walford

and scientific studies. Certainly as you mentioned, if one is hell bent on

fasting for long periods, it should not be done without medical

supervision, and that I think is the danger here: that some people will

read his book, get all excited about a 2 week fast, and try it themselves

without medical help.
