Hi Easy:

It looks to me to be a lot more realistic than other methods I have

seen for calculating caloric expenditure. I don't have an opinion on

the other, non-calorie, nutrient amounts.

Hi Easy:

However, like all the other calculations I am familiar with, it

breaks down under CR conditions.

When I calculate my caloric requirement for my set point (my

conventional wisdom ideal weight) incorporating wrist circumference

as a measure of bone mass, it gives me exactly 2000 kcal/day, which

makes a lot of sense to me.

But when I use their software to determine what weight they believe

would be associated with a 40% reduction from that 2000 kcal - I.E.

where would my weight stabilize if I were to drop my caloric intake

by the 40% 'standard' reduction used in mouse and fruit fly studies

of CR, guess what it says my weight would be!!!!!

Between 35 lbs and 36 lbs!!! Yes, I didn't get that wrong. POUNDS.

So how useful is any of this stuff for calculating weights under CR?

Not much, imo.
