Thank You,In His Love and Light,From: rnmom9456@... <rnmom9456@...>Subject: billable codes? , qxci-english Date: Thursday, March 31, 2011, 6:24 AM I am interested in billing for sessions in a doctor's office. Some of the codes in the superbill are no longer acceptable or are outdated. Are there any doctors here, or anyone working for doctors, that can share billable codes with me? One of the tests being done in this doctor's office is EMG, so I cannot use that code for my services. thank you,

Guest guest
We discussed this a few years ago, and the conversation went something like this... Those who do not work with someone who has a medical license, would be better off not trying to bill, since it would flag you as trying to practice medicine. Those who do work with someone with a medical license, such as a chiropractor, are limited by each individual insurance company as to which codes they accept, some only accept back pain, some foot or back, some stress, etc. It took a lot of diligence on a yearly basis for that person to contact the companies (because each year they revised it). If you are in a medical office, you have the code book for your conditions/treatments and can try to use those numbers that are there, but the problem is again, each insurance company plays its own game. I found this out from a medical doctor in N. Carolina who's wife does biofeedback for him. It is a real pain, and one that is different state to state. Guest guest
I believe one has to have an NPI number to be qualified for billing. This I understand is easily obtained from an government agency but not sure which one. Also it helps to be associated with an MD or ND who can presribe sessions. Guest guest
I work in a Chiropractor's office a few days a week as a Quantum Biofeedback Specialist, along with 7 massage therapists and 2 Chiropractors. We tried using the Biofeedback code 90901 for reimbursement by Blue Cross Blue Shield and they rejected it. We have since used code # 97112 (for neuro-muscular re-education) and have not had any trouble getting reimbursement with that code. I hope this helps. In a message dated 4/15/2011 3:25:17 A.M.
