My spot in the smart meter challenge

Four months ago I started requesting that National Grid remove the two ERTs

(according to Loni's article I guess that is a step down from a smart meter)from

my house, which are attached to the other side of my kitchen wall. I have

contacted them many times and have only gotten the run around - always saying

that they would have a manager call me back and they never have. They will not

relese any manager names, or provide any concrete data on what the frequency is

or how strong it is, or how many times it signals per minute/day/month.

Last week they told me they had to check with their legal department to see if

they can " legally " remove them from my home. I have had it. I called the

Department of Utilities in Massachusetts thinking they could help. I explained

my situation and the woman there literally laughed at me, asking how else they

could get my reading when all of their meters are this way.

I told her that I could pre-pay the bills, or take a digital picture of the

meters, call in the reading, whatever, but this was clearly a civil rights

violation. She did stop laughing - I think she started to understand the

magnitude of the problem. We will see if I hear from her again...

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I am in the throws of the smart meter

problem as well.

Take Care-

> Hi Everyone,

> Regarding the technocracy article, last week, (for the 3rd time) I addressed

my local town hall commission on the subject of smart meters.

> The local paper did an article, and quoted a white paper prepared by the

" Electric Institute " ...stating that radio frequency exposure of a person from

continuously operating smart meters would be 125 to 1.250 LESS then that of a

person using a cell phone! Just one more example of " industry spin " . For those

who have read the technocracy article, they ALSO mention this Institute!

Coincidence? I think not.
