Guest guest
Haven't had to use it for some time,. but what used to work for me was Penny Royal, a handfuf of leaves, stems, squashed in hands and rubbed on arms and any exposed areas. Don't have any where I am now, but not many skeeters either. I do have a lot of Catnip, so think I will put it in my birdbaths and see what happens. granny lee ----- Original Message ----- From: Sylvia health Sent: Tuesday, July 13, 2004 3:58 PM Subject: Re: catnip trail #1 OK this sounds cool and i have a huge "skeeter" problemCan you tell me how much catnip you used to how much water? Does anyone think that the ratio will mater? I want to try this right away. The monsoons just started this last week and so i suspect the biters will be getting worse before winter comes! So far just lavender oil is not helping (well it has helped some, but not enough!)Sylvia> Well I went out last nite sprayed in my catnip, walked around the > bushes and my garden and didn't get bit. Guest guest
I got up at 5 this a.m. started the laundry, boiled some water in the percolator, infused a cup of dried catnip, very strong, made some decaf and took a paper towel and applied the catnip infusion to my arms, legs, back of neck and face and went out on the patio by daybreak to have a good hot cup of decaf. We do have some, not many, mosquitoes. Had adults and also larvea in compost tea bucket. They never bothered me. I had on a house dress with 'petty coat' as wanted to give the little devils all the territory i could to see what would happen. This is not conclusive, but promising???? After about 45 minutes to go after my blood..LOL..and no takers, I diluted the rest of the tea/infusion, and had a hot cup of catnip with stevia tea! granny lee.
