Guest guest
Duncan: Thank you so much for asking. If you can read to the end of this email and give me some advice, I'll send you a cheque. In Dr. Fife's book The Coconut Oil Miracle, he says that VCO is SIMILAR to Pregnenolone (the Mother of all hormones) and he is right. Pregnenolone first makes DHEA which makes Androstenedione which makes Testosterone which makes Estradiol. In that order. And in that very order, my levels are very elevated after several months of using ONLY 2 tablespoons per day. So VCO does NOT have hormones IN IT PER SEY but this Pregnenolone (similar to) your body would USE to make the hormones. Do you see what I'm saying? His books have information from people talking about how their Menopause WAS WIPED OUT and other Testimonials on their hormones. Somehow you missed that information. In Fife's book Saturated Fat May Save Your Life he says-talking about Sterols (which make hormones) in VCO " The greatest degree of protection comes to those who have a healthy digestive tract, because the type of flora present will affect the production of the Phytochemicals " . How true that is. The Candida population is what's putting everything out of whack for me. So I need to be intensive with that HOWEVER with hormones so high, I couldn't tolerate a lot of things. I'm sure you know about Progesterone used (topically) and I guess I was using too much for a few years. I sent a Blood Spot Test to ZRT Lab in Beaverton, Oregon and it showed VERY HIGH Progesterone. Here is some info about Candida and Progesterone. There has been a lot of research done on progesterone ~ and how it influences candida growth. Here are some quotes: " Back to Health " by Dennis W. Remington, M.D.: Many believe that PMS is related to progesterone: symptoms worsen when progesterone levels are high, and are minimal or absent when progesterone is also absent. 1. Progesterone seems to enhance yeast growth and activity: At times when progesterone levels are high - such as during pregnancy or when a woman is taking progesterone-containing birth control pills - vaginal " yeast infection " is common, and many symptoms of candidiasis are worse. The same thing happens during the premenstrual phase of the cycle. Toxins Produced by Candida may interfere with the transport of progesterone and other hormones into the various cells. Most hormones must act on some internal part of the cells, and can only do their job if they get inside. And being Diabetic might have something to do with this 'out of control' Candida. What are your thoughts on that? Bonnie _____ From: Coconut Oil [mailto:Coconut Oil ] On Behalf Of Duncan Crow Sent: December 6, 2008 1:27 PM Coconut Oil Subject: Re: DATA on VCO and hormones? Bonnie, I haven't found research that mentions VCO contains hormones, or the actual level of hormonal precursors if any. Where did you get your information? The information I DO have is that hops tea is probably the most potent common souce of phytoestrogens. One can usually pick and dry hops in the fall for free as it's something of a backyard weed.
