Guest guest
Although there has been some other controversary about soy, I'm not sure why we are taking Dr Mercola's word or looking up his website on ANYTHING. Dr M seems to be a chiropractor (an " osteopathic " physician). Why go there? Let's get better references from people that are respected in the mainstream scientific community. on 7/10/2004 1:40 AM, Peg Diamond at enmuffins@... wrote: > Here's an article by Dr.Mercola on soy: > > http://www.mercola.com/2001/jun/30/soy_fda.htm > > There's also an ABC program about the use of soy. Guest guest
Not to elevate Dr. Mercola, but he does have a doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine as well as " allopathic " residency training and is licenced as a physician. A chiropractor does not have the same medical training as an osteopathic physician. >From: Francesca Skelton <fskelton@...> >Reply- >< > >Subject: Re: [ ] Soy/Tofu >Date: Sat, 10 Jul 2004 09:33:10 -0400 > >Although there has been some other controversary about soy, I'm not sure >why >we are taking Dr Mercola's word or looking up his website on ANYTHING. Well it's 'me' not 'we' and I dont confine myself to Mercola's advice. I usually check out his recommendations with other medical sites. On Splenda: I had tried to buy some in Spain/Canaries but it was banned in Spain, so I bought some when over in the UK. I cant say I enjoy the taste in fact I have a jar that isn't opened. Within the last week it's been OK'd by all the 25 European countries in EU. I follow their standards on foods/vitamins moreso than the FDA's. As I recall Saccharin/Sweet'n Low was banned by the FDA and then approved later on after lobbying by industry. Canary Peg > M seems to be a chiropractor (an " osteopathic " physician).
