Hello all veteran CR support members, lurkers, and newbies..

I have lurked your posts for many months, and am inspired by the generosity

of your guidance to one another and the persistence with which you pursue

reliable information.

While my father's name, Dr. Roy Walford, may be familiar to you, my own

history with Cr most probably is not. I have been following my father's

principals for almost twelve years now. It is no longer something I

consciously attend to, it really has become the backbone of health that

supports my other interests in life. I am introducing myself in this way

to set the example that CR can be and perhaps should be a means rather than

an end. It can be the launch pad for the best part of your life, the

healthiest part of your life, at whatever age you begin..

Along with DeLaney, I have been writing a book on CR that would

introduce it's basic principals in lay person's terms along with a

practicum and examples of real people who are on some form of Cr.. And you

are the people! Your stories are really good.. the 90 degree turns

(through out most of the junk), the slow down stories (losing too fast),

the dead end stories (different styles), the green light stories (some of

these include pictures), the husband, wife and children stories..

It is through our struggles and triumphs that we recognize

possibilities. And it is through the details of your stories that those

possibilities come to life. If any of you would consider sharing your

stories with me for this book, we would all be most

appreciative. Especially the many future newbies who will see themselves

in your words..

Please consider the following as suggestions for your story. I will

collect and review all submissions, and, with your permission, post the top

six.. If you do send me material, please include permission to use it in

our book.

For possible inclusion in THE CR DIET, A Practical Guide to Living 120

Vital Years. Getting the Most from What You Eat with Calorie Restriction,

by M DeLaney and Walford.

1) How long have you been on Cr?

2) What motivated you to begin?

3) How did you start?

4) What were your strategies?

5) What was the most difficult part?

6) And the most surprising part?

7) Did you have any biomarkers taken before you began?

8) What did your friends or family think? and your doctor?

9) Do you exercise?

10) Are there any other tricks or programs that you found helpful to stick

with it? Motivational guides?

I myself have been through several chapters to arrive at CR as a simple

lifestyle. Those included a raw chapter, a fasting chapter, and currently

a vegan chapter.. Onward: paths may be many but the truth is one, CR will

better us all... thanks for your consideration.....
