Guest guest
Oh yes. Whenever I had a wood splinter in my hand I would be the envy of all the children in the neighborhood (hehehe.) Mom would wrap a piece of fat raw bacon on me and sure enough, that salty meat would draw the wood right into it and out of me by morning. I think it was a combination of the fat softening the skin and the salt drawing that pulled the foreign matter out. > welcome back! > For drawing out boils, cysts, 'risings' etc, a piece of 'sow belly' (salt pork) used as a poultice. I do remember momma using that to draw out a tiny splinter from my hand that was pretty deep. Now.... whether it came out as a result of the gathering of puss and the body ejecting it...with my help... or if it actually 'drew' it out. <G> Anyone else have experienced this? > ----- Original Message ----- > From: peacefulglow
Guest guest
Yes, make sure it is a fatty piece. The thick strip kind is best. Mom would lay a piece on the sliver and then wrap my finger up with gauze and tape. The next morning the sliver would be in the bacon fat. (Don't use canadian or english bacon..use american strip bacon) > So you just take a piece of bacon and wrap it around a sliver and it'll take it out??? A regular piece of bacon? > > Candace----- Original Message ----- > From: peacefulglow > Oh yes.
