Guest guest
Hi Aequalsz: I seem to remember (if someone can find the number and it is different please tell us) that the japanese eat the most fish, and average ~200 grams a day. For the last few years I have been eating about half that much, but I am wondering if I should raise my intake to closer to theirs. One possibility is to eat half of it as high fat fish (sardines, herring, mackerel, salmon, etc) and the other half low fat fish (flounder, tuna ......). That way if the benefit is not confined entirely to the oils then the low fat fish will help keep the calories down. Of course if it is canned you have to be careful to check what it is canned with (often canola, soybean oil, etc if you are not careful). Ever tried fish-flavored kefir? ;; ^ ))) Rodney. --- In , " aequalsz " <aequalsz@y...> wrote: > Tried equal parts of frozen strawberries, blueberries, and red > seedless grapes and a similar volume of skim milk kefir. Beach Cliff sardines, packed in water, from Target are very good. > > Ever tried fish-flavored kefir? ;; ^ ))) > > Rodney. > Never tried that. :-((( Did try guar blended in with Kefir and it was actually quite horrible tasting. Suppose you could mix in some kind of sweetener to make it taste better though. But I like to stay with more natural foods and am not very sold on guar gum yet. Kefir gets a resounding yes vote of support though. Good stuff! Aequalsz
