Oh, I do. Not too long ago, I had a big bottle of fo on the kitchen counter

because I was making soap. I opened the cupboard and a cup fell out right

on top of the bottle, causing the top to crack and the bottle to tip over.

The smell of Ocean Rain was so strong that I could hardly stand it for days,

LOL.

I'm just glad it wasn't patchouli. ;-)

Good morning,

I am new to CP soapmaking and was wondering when you do use fruit/veggie

puree do you add extra water to the purée or just count the puree as the

water, measuring same amount as in water for the lye mixture?

Thanks!

OH my gosh! ! ! ! I don't blame you for wanting to get out of the

kitchen. I have been finding that Fos tend to get me heart burn for

some reason. Or at least I am thinking that is part of the problem. I

tends to happen when I have my major 24/7 soaping days. not to

mention the headaches im sure.

That must have been horrible all that FO going to waste. And FO can

be almost as corrosive too. I had some leack out and take the paint

off the metal it spilled on. I told my mother I was in fact glad it

was the lye and not FO or my measured out soap oils. the lye cost

less.

you use anything that is liquid (water base liquid not oils) as the

water measurement. The amount is really up to you as if you want all

juice or juice and water, milk and water, coffee water and so on. I

made cucumber soap that was made up of all pureed cucumber, no water

added. I just did a peach soap where i took my water amount (12 oz)

and used 3 oz peaches, 7 oz water. mixed that with the lye then at

trace I added 2 oz coconut milk for a total of my 12 oz of fluids. I

am stil waiting to see the results.

I forgot how much water/pumpkin i did when i made my pumpkin soap.

another thing to remember is to use GSE or something to keep the

fruit from going bad. I have yet to have a problem with moldy or bad

soap. I hope it stays that way.

I hope this answers your question.

Thanks so much for the info as it is always fun to be able to be creative!

Have a wonderful day!

PS- Have you ever used benzoin instead of GSE? I have done that for making

the glycerin soaps ( M & P) that I have made with fruits and they came out

well, but CP is a diff story and Benzoin can turn light colored bases

brownish so not sure if that maybe the case for the CP lighter colored

soaps-

Koala, good news. I never use GSE and haven't had a problem with spoilage,

either. Between the drying of the lye and the pH of the soap, spoilage is not

a concern--as long as the vegetation is well-pureed.

Yup. Being the miserly person I am, though, I scraped as much fo as I could

from the counter into a bowl, and from the bowl into a bottle. Could have

been worse. :-) Fortunately, I have good old formica countertops that have

shown no harm from my soapmaking ventures. It's not very trendy (formica),

but it works for me, so it stays. I don't want to test some eo's on it,

though, LOL.

FO's can harm some surfaces, that's for sure.

I see that Koala did a good job of answering your question. I would only

add that when I use berries w/seeds, such as strawberries or raspberries, I use

a much smaller amt., both because of the brown coloring that comes as a

result of the berries being mixed with the lye, and because used at 100%, the

seeds would be overwhelming, IMO. Cucumber can truly be used up to 100%, but I

wouldn't recommend that for everything.

Rose,

That's not what I was saying, please stop putting words in my mouth.

What I was trying to get across (others seemed to comprehend) that

Chelsea's show is all about comedy and she makes fun of herself.

Mostly all comedians make fun of something whether it's politics,

culture themselves or others.

I never said it was right I just placed her role for " Chewy " in

context of her show.

This simply began as thread about Chelsea using the proper term.

Something I did not expect from a late night talk show host.

That is all.

lee is a comedian who is both LP and female yet she

doesn't hit self-depracating at all. Rita Rudner was doing

observational comedy long before Jerry Seinfeld but who got the TV show?

>

> So what you are saying is that because Chelsea Handler uses ugly

stereotypes for herself she can make ugly stereotypes for someone

else? Is advertising for an LP for a Salsa Man job empowering but

asking for a midget is derogatory? If someone sees me as a thing and

not a person, I don't care what word they use it's all the same.

Grouply is under serious scrutiny (appalled scrutiny) by list owners for a wide variety of security and list violation reasons. (I know, I'm one of them and am involved in the discussions.) It IS a problem that they require your ID and password - anyone who's been on the internet for more than three seconds knows not to give out that information to anyone who asks for it uninvited and to look askance at anyone who does. Many list owners are banning/removing people who access their lists through Grouply, and are working with the Grouply founders to fix the serious security problems that were discovered by list owners testing the system out of necessity because their lists' integrity was being compromised. The problems are legion, are being worked on (albeit with some reluctance in the case of some, and not addressed at all in the case of the inquiry as to whether it would be possible for Grouply

to work WITHOUT the necessity of providing ID and password - resounding silence there), However, I, for one, as a responsible list owner, won't be allowing Grouply members to be on my lists until all the problems are satisfactorily resolved.

Source(s):

Various list owner/moderators' discussion lists, some of which have open archives if anyone not a member wants to get the real skinny on the problems that have surfaced and are being worked on.

Oh, I had to learn it the same way you did. We has humans always eat fast. and it is a very hard habit to break. Tiny baby bites--keep telling yourself that. I notice when I was eating out some place is when I would have the most trouble--eating to fast. We have all had it I think. Now you know what sliming means--LOL

Isn't fun, is it? I have struggled with this 4-5 times since my surgery... but it's a learning process and I will learn. I also find that I do this most often when I am distracted and and not paying attention to the size of my bites or how fast I'm eating.

Good Luck hon... we are here for you!

The website is: www.W4AR.com

Sorry, my computer blipped out on me

before I could add the website.

Check it OUT! The couple, ine and ,

are out there, every DAY- working the smart meter

thing. Thanks to their dedication, Michigan now has

3 cities who have declared moratoriums, with more

on the way. This couple has probably covered 30 dif't

cities. She has gone up against the utility company here

and torn them to bits!
