Guest guest
IIRC, the study folks will get to eat between 3 PM and 6 PM daily, whilst the controls get 3 squares at traditional times: " The NIA is planning a human study that will compare a group eating three meals a day with a group eating the same diet and amount of food within four hours and then fasting 20 hours. " Also, IIRC, the groups will be rotated after a certain time period (3 months?) to the opposite feeding schedule. >From: " Rodney " <perspect1111@...> Reply-To: > Subject: >[ ] QUESTION: Mattson's Upcoming Study Date: Mon, 02 Aug 2004 >15:35:53 -0000 > >Hi folks: > >I believe that in Mattson's upcoming study subjects will be fed just once a >day in the early evening. > >Is the study going to compare fully fed subjects? Guest guest
Because I live near where this study will be conducted, I emailed Mattson and then called his study coordinator to inquire about volunteering. I live in Bethesda MD and the subjects must show up for dinner every night for two months at a time to a location in Beltsville MD. There will be two groups of normal BMI subjects between ages 40 and 50 who are non-smokers. Each group will have two months on, two months off, and two months cross-over to the other eating plan. If eating dinner only each day, they will have to start eating between 4:30 and 6:30 in order to consume all their calories, which are not restricted. When they are in the other eating plan, they will eat dinner at the location in Beltsville, and will take home their breakfast and lunch for the next day. I asked to be placed on their email list and will post here if the information is of general interest. Also, if anyone fits the eligibility requirements and logistics are not too challenging (as they turned out to be for me, because I have two small children at home), you might want to call Spears to inquire: 301-504-6002 > IIRC, the study folks will get to eat between 3 PM and 6 PM daily, whilst > the controls get 3 squares at traditional times: > > > " The NIA is planning a human study that will compare a group eating three > meals a day with a group eating the same diet and amount of food within four > hours and then fasting 20 hours.
