a gallon of virgin coconut oil runs around the 50-55 dollar range in most

stores. some places may charge more for the

same thing. but when you find around 25.00 for a " gallon " of coconut oil,

its most likely not virgin coconut oil.

I use both. I can't afford to only use the expensive type. I use

wilderness family naturals brand traditional method for when I have to use

more at a time. such as recipes and frying. I use the virgin coconut oil

for my eating. I got it from Azure for about 25.00 a gallon.

I think its good oil too.

:) I had to look up the conversion. I never did learn

pints and quarts. Give me metric any day! I hope it

helps with senior moments - I have my own share of

them!

I've ordered from Vitamin Shoppe and once in awhile

they'll have a good promo or coupons. Once the 54 oz

was on sale for $20.19 and I had a $10 coupon, so I

got two for $35.37 (incl. ship.). I thought that was

a good deal!

mornin' -- gee that was a really good deal from VS ... was it

vitamin shoppe brand vco that you bought? how did you like it? i

was in Vitamin Shoppe over wkend comparison shopping and saw the

jar ... kind of shied away because label said contains lauric acid

but didn't say how much, and i'm skittish about VS's taste and

quality, although I do very often buy their brand of supplements.

Was going to buy a gallon or 1/2 gallon of something, but decided to

stick with smaller bottles, 14 or 29 oz at this point until i

find " the best " for me. So far, being a newbie, I've tried Spectrum

14 oz. unrefined (yummy but have nothing else to compare it to) and

refined. So I went to the health food store and on a few people's

recommendation here got myself the Nutiva 29 oz. unrefined for $20.

I like it. Hopefully as I move up to " better " brands, I'll be

getting what I pay for.
