Guest guest
Is anyone experienced as to whether it makes a difference in the macronutrient content relative to certain positive outcomes of CRON eg lower BMI, BP, lipids, etc.? recently I decided to loose a stone, although already slim, and I found a 45% fat 25% protein and 30% carb diet the easiest way to do it (weight came off faster and I felt less hungey and had more energy). Now that I have stabalised, I am finding a 40-45% fat diet the best for me (blood pressure 105/60), not hungry, more energy but once I cut the fat and up the carbs I get weaker, less able to walk a few miles without feeling weak and in need of more food. Don't know cholestrol yet and my BMI is 18.5 on 1500 cals a day. But my current fat ratio is aprox (45% sats, 45% mono and 10%poly)I get the sats from butter, coconut, swiss cheese, omega3 eggs and cream) and the poly and mono from salmon, olive oil and avacado. I think the sats have good amounts of some nutrients (vit A, and a range of different saturated fats. I know the body can make sats fats, but I don't see a problem in giving it a hand at times, especially as more studies are showing sats are not as evil as once thought and may have beneficial aspects). I find this ratio works for me, and I have tried just about every other ratio possible. Personally I find reaching the RDA for all nutrients more difficult this way, but I just feel the most healthy. Plus little problems like allergies and dry skin have cleared up on this diet. With 1500 cals its hard to overdose on anything, so its best to try and reach the RDAs with what works best for your own specific body and mind, but include a kilogram of fruit and veg, raw if possible. Which studies are these? And what are the beneficial aspects?
