Guest guest
This has been a long day. I have been trying to get mom to change her diet for a few years, but that seems a lost cause at this point. She has siezed most of the day since 3 or was it 4, I don't remember now. She had a break of 2 1/2 hours this morning and then started again. Mom couldn't take it any more si she took her to the vet and he gave her phenal barbatol (sp?). Which has only made the seizures less although the vet said it would make her fall asleep. I really can't believe her heart has been able to stand this. The vet said if it haasn't stopped in a week or two mom should think about putting her to sleep. ARG!! I can't believe they would let her stay like thisso long. When I questioned my mom she got real deffensive fast. I'm going to give her some Tonic and water and hope that helps. Becky Oh they think it might be a brain tumor.__________________________________________________
Guest guest
Have you thought about essiac??? I still think the lobelia is the way to go. Possibly giving her some chamomile tea might help her rest. Suzidoodle bug <doodlebugboodles@...> wrote: This has been a long day. However, dreams only come true if you take the first step. Otherwise, they just remain a dream. I truly believe that you could do this and make it work. It is truly a wonderful idea you have and I would love to hear about your success story from doing it. You have my energy flowing towards you to help you in this endeavor. I know you can do it. This is a very profound statement that I have found to be quite true. You need to start talking about your dream to people. Guaranteed that someone, somewhere at some point will have just what you are looking for or they will know who does. You have to take that first step of realizing your dreams before they will ever materialize. Yes, your dreams will materialize eventually. But you must keep them in the forefront. Success is sweet in deed but usually is hard won by your sweat, blood and tears, so to speak. I am glad that you are remaining positive about this. I guess it would be kind of difficult to do this in your mothers garage on a full time basis. But hey, you never know. Keep your dreams alive and continue to work towards their realization. Like you said it can happen at the drop of a hat. The physical reality of your dream is only two people away. Peace be with you Pam. -- Peace, love and light, Don Quai " Spirit sleeps in the mineral, breathes in the vegetable, dreams in the animal and wakes in man. Guest guest
Many years ago, i had a kitty that started having seizures, he was about 16 or 17 at the time. The vet said i was lucky to have him so long, and gave him the pheno-barb too and predisone! I didnt like that he was medicated all the time and therefore sleeping, so slowly i cut back and then stopped it. Not knowing what i know now, but have some natural intuition, i went from store bought garbage to the better stuff (nutro at that time) and supplemented him with home-made broth and avocado (vet suggested), he added a little weight and seemd to do much better. He had an occaisonal seizure here and there, and slowly started to deteriorate but he lived to be 21. Your idea is awesome Pam, and i say GO-GO-GO!!!!! There are so many people that have no idea about the natural way for themselves, muchless for their pets! Check around your area for any holistic or natural vets, i bet you could get a load of clients as referals from them. Guest guest
A natural raw diet goes a long way towards diminishing epileptic seizures....the additives in commercial dog foods are triggers, not to mention typical over-vaccination. I would seek out a homeopath and treat this dog holistically. There is also at least one canine epilepsy list at groups....don't know the address offhand since I've never needed it (::knock wood:, but you might find it useful. Sharyn From: oldglory@... [mailto:oldglory@...] Don't you imagine your dog is seizing because of swelling in her brain? This is what the prednisone would counter. Is there anything herbal that would do the same thing?
