Guest guest
I am somewhat reluctant to step into this game We have been running a complete audit primarily on Vista (the report runs to several hundred pages and checks every function) and with checks on XP- the Vista program I am more happy with than many earlier programs- the programmers are doing a very good job- vista I personally hate (but I am a bit oldish!). There are some inconsistent problems that come and go- a probable element is the number of background programs operating and we are now trying to get identified what are absolutely necessary. There are problems from the beta tester that have not and do not show up for us. There is a new facility in the software to help test the conmain error- which is felt to be 99% of the time a problem with the computer- and 1% of the time with the box. This is information given by the programmers. IF you are going to use an old program the use XP My current understanding of a good spec is i. 1 Gb RAM- preferably 1.5 or more ii. 256 Mb graphics iii. Minimise the “useless” programs that come up automatically- these are talked about but no one actually says which ones! Please note that this should be good information- BUT it is not guaranteed. My feeling is that things are pretty close to being finalised- BUT QX is in control and they really really really are working incerdibly hard to get things sorted. Is it possible that a conmain error could be caused by a fault in my SCIO box? I was under the impression that conmain errors are mostly caused by a software fault. I was about to ask for assistance to reinstall my clasp32 software, when I was told that it may not be the software at all but the box that might be faulty. My concern is that this would mean the box would have to go to Hungary for repairs and would put me out of business for some time. Has anyone experienced this before? I have been very particular about the SCIO box and have treated it as a fragile item, so I am not sure how this would happen.
Guest guest
one suggestion is to get anew usb to usb cable. That is waht fixed my problem. I bought a new cable for $4.99 at Frys. The other day one of the practitioners in San Diego was thinking she had to send her scio back and she was distressed. She brought her box and cable to my office and I used my computer. It bypassed the scio. then I used my new usb cord and it easily found her scio. worth a shot for a few bucks. hope this is useful. Guest guest
I Have had the program on 3 different computers and the Conmain error came up (and continues to come up) on all 3. I don't feel it is a computer problem, instead it is more likely a programming glitch. Guest guest
A few years ago, the " fix " to my conmain error was re-setting the default printer in the control panel under printers. Once that was done, the conmain error went away. Try it with an installed printer hooked to your computer, print something out, then, open Clasp and see if the conmain error goes away. Good luck, Aloha, Bear > > I Have had the program on 3 different computers and the Conmain error came > up (and continues to come up) on all 3.
