Guest guest
Thanks for all of the responses and links! I am pretty sure her husband got it from her sexually or was also bitten by a tick. He has been recently diagnosed as having RA. I am trying to get them both to go to a literate doctor but she is a nurse and I am not sure if I can convince them. On the other hand she is miserable and loosing trust in the doctors because their treatments are doing nothing for her. I think I will hold off on bugging them about doing Iodine until they take the first step of getting diagnosed properly. There is only so much you can do to convince people that their DR's aren't always right. ....... Years ago I heard a doctor here in Balimore speculate that lyme, being a spirochete, could possibly be transmitted sexually. Syphillis is a spirochete. Recently I've heard this again from several other sources. I don't believe it has been confirmed that this is possible....yet........This older woman whose story I told has 3 adult daughters, all of whom have Lyme from her passing it on to them in utero, probably. She contends that it is passed sexually, and that her 2 oldest girls’ husbands now have it, too. (I did not ask if her husband has Lymes) Very sad. And yes, if you spoke with her, she would heartily agree with the Lyme/autism link since her youngest daughter has autism, and 2 of her grandchildren – both with moms with Lymes. This info is not unique to her, she has said her doctors explained this to her. So, somewhere, there is a body of knowledge about this.I had a great thyroid doc for a short while who had Lymes. She told me she got it from her mom and gave me some kind of a website if I wanted to know more. She had to stop her practice as her symptoms increased, unfortunately. Guest guest
Not sure. Let's take this off line. I have had an " official " test that come back negative but " Q " and electronic tests come back positive. I think 80% of the population has lyme in varying degrees. Thank you! Guest guest
Alaire-I believe we get Lyme first, it knocks down the immune system, and we become suseptible to all kinds of opportunistic infections and infestations. Both my LLMDs say I have had Lyme for many years, just didn't have many symptoms and my immune system kept it in check. Then I got the bugs on me, fungus, ect. and all hell broke loose.AandrayaOn Nov 30, 2011, at 3:19 PM, alaire73 <alaire_fetters@...> wrote: http://www.lymephotos.com/ check out the cocoon link> i definitely saw these. do you think some of us have lyme first then the mites? lyme sufferers get parasites. very very strange

Guest guest
These are often related to infections. I have neck and joint problems too, but no tinnitus. I see them as being related to the Lyme and fungal issues going on. I have fungal issues like Candida which I try to address, but it is deep within the body too. Guest guest
Kaz-YES! You sound like a classic Lyme case. You are in the UK? Most people with Lyme and coinfections go to the Breakspeare, and there are a couple private LLMDs who treat. They order the Igenix test from the U.S. But Lyme and coinfections must be clinically diagnosed because the blood tests only look for antibodies and are unreliable. An LLMD will know what to do. I suggest you join the Eurolyme group, they are very helpful and know which doctors to see. I have taken many antibiotics. I'm being treated for Borrelia(Lyme), Babesia, and Bartonella, the 3 most common tick borne infections- they are common in the UK too, even though regular docs will tell you they aren't. I've taken Doxy, Bactrim, Levaquin, Rifampin, Flagyl, Mepron, Malerone, artemisinin, and other herbal antimicrobials. In the UK they use allicin a lot, that is very good in high doses, but won't get you completely better. Rx antibiotics were the best for me.AandrayaOn Dec 4, 2011, at 7:02 AM, Keogh wrote: Hi AandrayaI am going to make an appointment with my doctor to find out about testing for Lyme & co infections - I feel I need to present my case clearly to him as I havent really felt I was taken seriously in the past - could you advise me on what medications you took to clear up your infections? Guest guest
Kaz-The tests are not reliable, you need an Igenix test #188 and #189- Western Blot, the regular labs don't have a sensitive enough test. My babs and bart tests were negative, but my doc diagnosed me clinically- based on symptoms. Don't even bother getting an ELISA test, it's worthless. Lyme testing and treatment is very political unfortunately. Eurolyme can help you a lot. Stiff neck, ringing in the ears, sore joints, skin sensations- sounds like Lyme, and it will get worse if it goes untreated. I've been at this for 2 years now, and I read the Eurolyme board- it's really bad over there for Lyme treatment.AaOn Dec 4, 2011, at 4:08 PM, Keogh wrote: Hi Aandraya My doc probably isn't lyme literate, but I will ask if I can be referred somewhere to be tested - there has to be somewhere that tests for infections like this - I have found a private medical consultancy on the internet that will test for around £200 - that will only be a last resort as money is very tight at the momentKaz x From: Aandraya <aandraya@...> "bird mites " <bird mites > Sent: Sunday, December 4, 2011 7:52 PM Subject: Re: Re: lyme Kaz-Make sure you go to a Lyme literate doc who can do a clinical diagnosis, the tests are not reliable. Also, I have tinnitus, neck problems and various joint problems.. could these be related to infections? Guest guest
Yep, word loss, memory, brain fog are very common- and I've been there. Frozen shoulder as well.AaOn Dec 4, 2011, at 4:28 PM, Keogh wrote: Thank you AandrayaI have been feeling for quite a while that something is not quite right with me (apart from the mites)A while ago I had the most awful frozen shoulder, and then I read somewhere that this could be connected to lyme/bartonella - also I keep forgetting simple words, although that could be a hormone thing (peri menopause) and my normally happy go luck easy going nature has changed, like something has happened in my brain :0/Yep, I'm in England - I didn't know that these infections were common here Kaz x From: Aandraya Da Silva <aandraya@...> bird mites Sent: Sunday, December 4, 2011 10:13 PM Subject: Re: Re: lyme Kaz-YES! You sound like a classic Lyme case. You are in the UK? Most people with Lyme and coinfections go to the Breakspeare, and there are a couple private LLMDs who treat.
