I haven't been dx'd, but know I have it. I get SLEs from chronic Lyme disease &

chronic fatigue syndrome, which have already done so much CNS damage that I'm

now severely electro & chemically sensitive. I haven't heard of any pads or

sheets; not sure what you're talking about there. Glad you can find some relief

@ the beach. What have been your experiences w/ dysautonomia? I've gotten soooo

many more seizures & much poorer coordination & insomnia since a 4-day Smart

Meter exposure in March. I feel that the EMFs do a LOT of damage to the CNS. How

strong an influence do you feel that EMFs have on your dysautonomia?

I haven't been on the forum for some time. Was diagnosed with

dysautonomia, so that has consumed my curiosity for awhile. However, I just

read the " Earthing " book and checked on here about it -- most of the postings

were negative. Has anyone used the sheet or pad and felt better? I know I feel

amazingly better at the beach and that the effect lasts for a couple days.

Still, I can't be there all the time, so am hoping that a lot of you have had

success with the pads/sheets or something that I could use at home.

And, btw, have any of you been diagnosed with dysautonomia??

Thanks! Amy

You don't want to ground yourself in a high electrical environment b/c you can

become part of the grounding path for some of that electricity, and that can

adversely affect your health.

On the other hand, if you're on the beach, feel free to ground, as long as

there's no external sources of electricity such as lightning.

Hey Elysia - I think EMF's play a huge role in my dysautonomia. I don't think

EMF's originally triggered my autonomic nervous system to go on the fritz, but

being around electrical grids makes everything so much worse. My main symptoms

are muscle weakness, disequilibrium, fatigue and feeling faint (plus myriads of

other creepy little symptoms). The worst symptom triggers are the curly little

compact fluorescent bulbs, followed by regular fluorescent bulbs and some types

of recessed spotlight type bulbs. Because of that, I had to quit my job (I was

a teacher) because fluorescents were everywhere. At my worst, I was too weak,

dizzy and wobbly to even go into a store or fast food place for 5 minutes. I'm

a lot better now, but not normal. I can do computers without too many effects,

and use cell phones and portable phones on most days for a decent amount of time

before I feel any effects. In stores, I can shop a little now (maybe a half

hour if I'm lucky) but my legs get real weak and I get REAL hot quite quickly.

If there's a line at the checkout, I'm out of luck because I can't stand still

for very long at all. When I am outdoors, all my dysautonomia symptoms improve

somewhat (and sometimes a lot)

Being diagnosed w/ dysautonomia didn't help because the " typical " treatments for

it made me worse - and very few Drs. have even heard of it. So do you feel that

trying to treat EMF sensitivity has made you worse?? (Not very familiar with

smart meters). That's scary! What things have you tried that have helped with

EMF's and dysautonomia and what have you tried that has hurt??

Amy

Hi Amy,

If you have EMF sensitivity, you should unplug all digital cordless phones. The

base station (and sometimes also the handset as long as there are batteries in

it) radiate continually, even when you're not on a call. The European

parliament, Israel, Germany, and several other countries have cautioned about

cordless phones, esp. those with the DECT standard.

As for your computer, if it's a laptop, you might want to unplug it when you're

not using it, and keep as much distance as possible. I used to think electrical

sensitivity only happened to those overexposed to wireless radiation. Now I

realized computers have dangerous low frequencies of their own, as detected by

an AM radio. Some computers also cause high body voltage if they are not

grounded. (I think it can be helpful to ground electrical devices, but you just

don't want to be on the grounding path.)
