Guest guest
I always stay with friends who hold to an element of village life when it comes to food... Therefore, this may not be typical. > What did you observe about their diet? Oil, oil, and then a little oil! {grins} Actually, the base was a solid core of varied vegetables, lots of leafy greens, always with olive oil, and if there wasn't meat in a lunch or dinner, there was feta. Breakfast was often Nescafe (Greek instant coffee can be whipped as an ice drink, which is good in 40+ Celsius) & a type of baked good. I suppose it could be summarized as a good CR base of vegetables, the children of Neptune are often sacrificed on the platter (almost daily), and a reasonable dose of wine with a meal. The palm-sized pieces of feta drizzled with oil & pepper taste great, but surely are not good for one. Nonetheless, the greens combined with lots of walking must play a significant role, and servings of meat are generally smaller.
