Rodney, Actually don't bother to check it much any more but will keep a record for a few days starting tomorrow. Has anyone tried the lifespan calculator web site at www.livingto100.com ? My wife's result - 107.7 years. Mine 106.1 years. Actually think it would be remotely possible, but very unlikely. Still a useful web site for general health recommendations though. Also took a few measurements this morning @ 6AM with a Sunbeam (electronic) bp measuring device and got: 128/80 mmHg 56 bpm 121/76 56 122/69 56 127/76 56 118/74 60 122/75 56 This was after 4 or 5 " good " cups of coffee and the bp has been running a little high lately probably because of the extra salt I had been adding to my food. So would expect the bp to come down a bit since I've reduced the salt intake - probably take a few more days though. You can see that these reading were all over the place. About the only thing constant was the heart rate at 56 bpm. And the systolic bp does seem to vary more than the diastolic bp does. But it's right to say that everyone is different and this may not be normal for other persons. Aequalsz
Guest guest
The one I consider to be the most reliable indicator of change is the first reading supine in bed which I take every morning. Caveat - I have usually voided an hour or 2 before I finally get up. The variation peak to peak are about 10/5 mmHg. If I ate a salty meal or a high fat meal the night before it might be 135/76. The second most reliable (for change) reading is the one I take 20 mins after resting after a 3 mile one hr walk. Regards. ----- Original Message ----- From: Rodney Sent: Tuesday, August 17, 2004 6:46 PM Subject: [ ] Blood Pressure Variations Hi folks:Would anyone (Aequalsz? A range of not more than five points in the diastolic. And does the average, highest or lowest number represent the 'real' reading? TIA. Rodney.
