Guest guest
That's a great question! The article says high levels of fructose. "The data in humans are less clear." It will take time to digest this information, (ahem). It's not intuitive because of the circular mechanism of leptin, insulin, and hunger. Would someone on CRON consume high levels of fructose unless they supplement or ate exclusive furit and Pepsi (or Coke)? One just has to think there is a difference in effect between a soda pop sweetened by high fructose corn syrup and an apple. This study was published in 2002 and other studies have followed. http://www.ajcn.org/cgi/content/full/76/5/911 Scroll to the bottom and you will find another 11 follow up or related studies. -------- Original Message --------Subject: [ ] Re: Fructose ConcernFrom: "Rodney" <perspect1111@...>Hi :Well if it is true that: "fructose consumption induces insulin resistance ...................", then isn't that another argument suggesting one should be cautious about how much fruit one eats?(Isn't 'fructose' supposed to be 'fruit sugar'?)Rodney. Guest guest
From what I read these days, high levels of fructose (or high fructose fruits) are to be avoided. But when uses fructose in his meals, we don't know whether it's a high amount, or if he has small amounts spread out through out the day. I ASSumed the latter because he is on a CR plan. Also noted was some fiber intake. As Jeff recently pointed out, disrupted fiber is still better than no fiber with respect to blood glucose & insulin response. The micro details about his food/supplement protocol aren't known ... but at least the improvement in his conditions seem to be a good sign. scott@... wrote: That's a great question!
