Guest guest
This is it, I think. There's a self-destructive desire for food that needs to be overtaken by a more urgent desire in order to motivate one toward reducing intake. For me, it is similar to the motivation noted by jwwright below. At age 47 with two children ages 3 and 5, I keep asking myself this: What do I want more, this extra food that I don't need...or to live long enough to see my children grow up and have their own families? Knowledge and reason are not enough. Motivation, ever-present desire, and a survival instinct stronger than one's death wish... these are the things that tip the balance. --- In , " jwwright " <jwwright@e...> wrote: I'm determined to see my gson grad medical school in 20yrs, so maybe it takes some " extreme " desire to curb/replace the desire for food intake.
