Wild Pacific Salmon was one of the lowest ones listed, and Northeast Lake

Salmon was in the " moderate " category.

Thank you Minc, I'll get them and see if Sal likes them.

Salmon comes from fisheries and is a large business. I think it is highly

unlikely that salmon would be dangerous from that source. They are highly

monitored.

Sushi bars get it from fisheries, so we get our fish from them quite easily.

It never smells as the Japanese know how to preserve fish better, I think -

perhaps a temperature deal.

When you can smell a fish, then it is not good to eat is generally the rule

re: bacteria, etc.

Pam,

Does she have any " silver " amalgam dental fillings? They contain 52% mercury.

Oh yes! The Pacific Salmon are wonderful. In the three years I've been in the northwest, I have eaten more salmon than anything other protein. Now I only buy it fresh off the local boats or get it from fishing friends and family.

We also are fortunate to get halibut fresh from the commercial fishermen, but this is only part of the reason I love my new home.

Hi All,

For the for me great description of salmon is:

http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/salmon/

Pacific salmon are better in taste and majestic

to see as they leap up our local Stamp Falls,

indifferent of the fish ladders provided and that

some salmon use.

The rare rare occasion we have fish (1-2 times a year) it is vital choice

salmon. Its a pity because we really do love fish.

And NEVER Atlantic salmon; only Pacific.

alaska (even this is not a guarantee it comes from unpolluted waters). FArmed

salmon from Chile is the next worst thing after tilapia: fed w concentrates,

full of hormones and antibiotics... Sad.
