Guest guest
Hi Sandy, so did I. It was overwhelming the amount of info out there, at least over two dozen different types of surgeries. But once you boil it down to your top three choices, then those are the ones you look up like crazy on the net. My three were: Mini Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass, Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, and the Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass. Some of my questions I am waiting to talk to the doc about in person. The internet was my primary source of info, plus you can go to the library to find out more. Good luck. I prefer just to go for it rather than worry about fills. Just my personal choice. Guest guest
Hi Jeanne Lee, I'm going to make this a brief message because I'm worn out from preparing presentation for class. Because I was taking the nursing courses years ago when I had digital hearing aids, I looked couple electronic stethoscopes that would listen and record rythms on a PDA. Here's the link: http://www.stethographics.com/main/products_pda_overview.html I'm not quite sure how compatible it is with the processor (body worn or BTE). I suggest that you contact the manufacturer. Hope this helps, Kent jeanne lee <jeannebird2000@...> wrote: Would anyone know if there is a stethescope made to work with a cochlear implant processor ? Guest guest
Hello Stacie, I just had my implant activated 10 days ago. I am so thrilled that I was able to understand words from the first day. I went with my husband to see his audie a couple of days ago and I asked them to clean my HA in my unimplanted ear. While my HA was out of my ear, I was able to carry on a conversation with the Dr. with only the CI. He was very impressed and so am I. Good luck to you--I know that you are excited and scared--I was too. IF I can be of any help to you, just let me know. Best Regards, Doris

Guest guest
Hi Dee, Like you I am learning about the lap band. Yesterday I brought the information to my doctor. He knew very little to nothing about the lap band. He said he will really look into it for me. Also, I asked him if he would consider being a fill doc. He said he would really look into the program. So far everything I have read and seen is leading me to the decision for surgery. Talk to you later, Lexi -- hi I am interested in having the lap band done by Dr Aceves....but I live in Tampa FL. I understand from friends that the most important thing about this is the followup. Because I live in FL and Dr Aceves is in Mexicali...this could be a problem. Any suggestions? My friends who had it done here said they go every month and a fill about every 3 months. What would you recommend I take to Mexico for after the surgery? How much are your fills costing? Guest guest
Crystal, I just had the lapband done last fri and I live in Sarasota county. We flew from tampa. It is a long trip and uncomfortable on the way home but worth it believe me it will be worth it. I asked Nina the Doctors in the area that she knows who does the follow up there are a few in Tampa and Clearwater and others in Florida. I myself will probably never make the trip back to mexico for the fills its too long of a trip. I will send you a link to the Dr. in Tampa and other surrounding areas if it doesnt come through correctly just email Nina she will send it to you. Guest guest
Lexi. One of these days I'll post my pictures. I'm one of the "old broads" in the group - grey hair and all! I think they had AC in the rooms, but no individual control so you're at the mercy of whatever the system is doing at the moment. I requested a fan as soon as I got there. It took all of about 15 minutes for someone to bring a very nice oscillating fan and set it up. It was a God send! Guest guest
This is my attempt on trying to solve this problem, someone else please verify whether I got the right answer or not. I believe the amount of sterile water added is 571ml with 429ml of 70% Dextrose to get 1000ml of 30% Dextrose. Here's my calculations: 30%/70% = x/1000ml solve for x, x = 429ml of 70% Dextrose needed. 1000ml - 429ml 70% Dextrose = 571ml of sterile water needed. I hope I got the answer right! Tingting Hi Hi can you help me with this problem A prescription calls for 1000ml of 30% Dextrose. Your pharmacy stocks Dextrose as a 70% solution. How much sterile water should you mix with 70% Dextrose to get the final product? 375 ml 571 ml 125 ml 288 ml
