Answer is: 1200 mg / 30 mg per tablet or a ratio proportion: 1 tab………..X tab ----- = --------- 30 mg………….1200 mg 1200/30 = 40 KMnO4 tablets (the third option or ‘C’) I hope this helps you out! Guest guest
Excellent work! This is what I teach as: V1 x C1 = V2 x C2 or C1 x V1 = C2 x V2 ( I usually place it in this order for my TPN worksheet on the job or in class). When ever you have two numbers separated by the word " of " it means a " times sign or 'x' " multiplication. so 1000 ml of 30% = X ml of 70% 1000ml x 30 = X ml x 70 Volume 1 x Concentration 1 = Volume 2 x Concentration 2 To solve divide both sides by the lone number on the left (70): 1000ml x 30 = X x 70 ----------- ------ 70----------------70 1000 x 30 --------- = 70 428.57 ml or 429 ml I placed this here so that others who may not have 'followed' your work may see it in full step by step. Good job! Guest guest
I am glad you are using a book that you like. HOWEVER: Study REVIEW books are JUST that! A REVIEW for those who already KNOW the FAT or the details that are left out. Therefore if someone, who knows nothing of pharmacy, uses such a book, he/she may pass the exam, but they are in my opinion NOT READY to jump in a job to be a good tech. YES he/she will be certified. But in what? Certified in knowing how to answer test questions. But not in doing the job well, because one would lack the 'other' important and usually precautionary information. They would lack 'reasoning'. This is a sad but true statement. And this is why I believe that all techs MUST attend a program and that each program MUST be standardized. I am still fighting for this. And I do beleive the day is coming sooner that we all think. Jeanetta .. Dat Le <le0014@...> wrote: Well i'm using the certification review for pharmacy technicians fifth edition. Guest guest
Zoe, how much ACV did you (or still use?) use to " cure " your sinus infections and your arthritis pain? And hemorrhoids? That sounds like it has worked pretty well for you. It is the " world's best kept secret. " And can you tell me what kefir is and what it does? I don't remember what I read about it. But our store has 3 different yummy- sounding flavors I want to try. And what is Kombucha? Huggs to you, too! Guest guest
Hey, . Welcome!! I think many of us have been there, done that to some degree or other. Way better to have someone to commiserate with, or share the awesome tips and tricks some folks have.......like goodies to take to the hospital !! My doc said the same thing about my hip, "How are you even walking?" A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, right? Barb Young, THR 2-13-07Again an active 63 years Hi Everyone :-) My name is and I am very happy to have found this list. I had my right hip replaced in 2004. I'm going to have my left hip replaced on May 8th. I'm about to turn 44. Have had a couple bad car accidents and arthritus runs in the family. My drug of choice for many years now has been Ibuprofen (advil, motrin ). For the past six months I've been trying to convince myself that nothing was wrong and that I was getting better. I'd been having trouble with the "old" left lip just before getting the right hip replaced. I was told that it was just sore and to give it some time. Finally totally frustrated I hired a psychic on Ebay 12/22/2006 (ohhhhh...yes I did... lol !!!! ) She told me to get my butt to the doctor. Guest guest
Hey ! I am doihg great. I just returned to school this morning after a week of spring break at the beach so I feel a bit rejuvinated to get these last 5 weeks of school taken care of and start my summer! I am a little too tight for my taste since my fill in mid-March. I plan on having Dr. Aceves take a little of it out when I go back to Mexico in June. If this were the beginning of my weightloss journey it would be perfect but since I am right at my goal, I just don't need to be this restricted. I want to be able to eat a little more than I am able to handle right now. I would like to lose about 5-6 more pounds before I go back and then have a bit removed for the long haul. I think it will be perfect then. I find that I graze more now than I usually do because I cannot sit down and eat a meal, so to speak. I can only eat a few bites at a time and that doesn't last me very long before I need something else so grazing seems to be the best way for me to eat right now. I would rather eat meals but since I know this is only temporary, I can handle it. What about you? How are you doing? And Amy? I hope all is well with both of you. Eileen was able to fly south for a few days while we were at the beach for spring break. It was wonderful to see her. I would love to bring my boys to Seattle for a little vacation this summer but we will just have to see. I would like to bring my husband too but ONE of us has to stay here and work to make the money so the rest of us can take all these mini-vacations and I voted on HIM! lol If we do get to come out, we will have to get together. I'll let you know. Keep in touch. Jenni Gross <gross_julie123@...> wrote: Hey Jenni,How are you? I can't imagine anyone picking any other Dr either. There are other Dr.'s that are a teeny bit cheaper. The reason this particular Doc is cheaper is because he only does blood work before surgery. I checked into him before I went to Dr Aceves and forgot to mention this earlier. He does not do an EKG or Chest X-ray and they did not keep you in the clinic after surgery. I picked Dr Aceves because of the awesome Hospital facility and his wonderful track record. I didn't even think of the importance of all the tests done pre-op. I know that is why he is always so safe.i can't imagine any person going under anesthesia without an EKG! Thank Goodness Dr Aceves is so thorough. I also really wanted to be in the hospital (not a hotel) after surgery.I had 2 more friends banded on Saturday from my town. I was in the hospital a total of 3 weeks as I did my rehab there. I can't imagine trying to do rehab while operating out of a busy home with kids. I needed to have my main focus be the therapy and meals, etc. all done for me. Rehab is hard....2x/day (45 min. sessions) for 2 1/2 weeks, plus occupational therapy 1x/day, then when I came home I had in home therapy 2x/week for 2 weeks. Then I am still in out patient therapy 2x/week. To have to worry about meals and all the other stuff would be difficult during that first 3 weeks, besides I was on pain meds every four hours around the clock for at least those 3 weeks. Now I am happy with my knee, although it is still stiff feeling, even though I can straighten it all the way and bend it when forced to 140 degrees. To answer your question, you will put as much weight as you can tolerate within a day or two after your surgery, using a walker with wheels. At first you'll put alittle weight on it and then you will increase it as you can. The most important part therapy will be working on is bending it and getting it to go all the way straight. How soon is your surgery? How old are your kids? Will your husband take care of all their needs at the lodge? I would think your doc may let you go if you can still do your exercises there and not be responsible for taking care of anyone else but you. You will still be using the walker or maybe a cane. Any more questions, just ask! I am going in for ankle fusion surgery on my oposite leg this Friday...so I will be away from my computer from Friday 5/18 thru Monday 5/21. Guest guest
Pam, Don't put it off. You will always find a reason that it is inconvenient but once it's done, it's done and you will be recovering. You will want to put weight on the knee. You will have a walker and/or a cane to use at first but by three weeks out, I was just using a cane then really dropped it once I started PT at a facility because I found it easier and less tiring to just walk slowly without a cane. You will want to be up walking as much as you can stand. You should be going to PT or having one visit you at this point. I had to drive home from where I had the surgery (my husband drove, of course) at week two and by week three I was in PT every day. I went to a facility for it. You will probably be able to go to the lodge but should take a cane for hard to navigate ground. You will be very tired still and on pain meds. You won't want to do lots, but in week three I was back at my computer doing my job, just intermittently lying down. How many days do you have to be at the reunion? By less than two months out, I was on a plane to go to a three-day conference in Orlando. I walked through Houston and Orlando airports with no assistance and a huge resort hotel. I was tired and sore at the end of the day, but could do it. So I imagine you can handle a two-day reunion at three weeks. Just rely on people to do things for you. -----Original Message-----From: Joint Replacement [mailto:Joint Replacement ]On Behalf Of pamSent: Tuesday, May 15, 2007 7:44 PMJoint Replacement Subject: hi Hi everyone...I've been off(been in school and work-study) posting fora while. Guest guest
Pam, The first two to three weeks after my TKR I wondered, " What have I done? " I felt like I had gone out of the frying pan and into the fire. But after that three week mark, things really improved. I stopped wondering why I had done it and I was so glad that I had. You will be tired, and you will be sore, and even though some lucky few have little pain, most TKR patients are on hefty pain meds. Everything you do for the first month or two will revolve around your knee. You will have PT, and take your meds, and learn to shower and do other things independently a little at a time. You will be moving your knee as much as possible. You will be encouraged to bear weight on it while you are still in the hospital, likely within 24 hours of surgery. You won't be bed ridden but those first couple of weeks after surgery, you won't have any energy or strength at all and I know I spent a lot of hours napping. I wouldn't have been ready for a family trip anywhere, not even a weekend away, at 3 weeks post op. JMO, for what it's worth. Good luck, >>Hi everyone...I've been off(been in school and work-study) posting for a while. Guest guest
In my case, the Jaw ache is a combination of teeth grinding and the nerve damage caused by the c-toma.Matt Marsteller <matthewm@...> wrote: Niamh,Aching behind the ear ... checkHearing the heartbeat ... checkJaw ache ... Guest guest
Niamh, look like we suffer the same fate on both our ears. I had it on the right 14 yrs ago. Lost my hearing after mastoidectomy due to the severe infection. Put in a t-tube two yrs later for the right ear. It pop-out after one year. Diagnosed c-toma in the right two yrs later & removed, had tymphanoplasty at the same time. But c-toma still came back for the right ear. I have changed & visited many ENT docs but hardly anyone could help. They would tell u that only God knows why c-toma exists. It forms persistantly eventhough I visit my existing ENT regularly to get the c-tome suck out from my left ear, together with the c-toma's buddy - infection. I am having tinnitis as well, even some irregular clicking noises lately. Heard some loud pulsating, heart-beat noises last week. After removal of some infections & c-toma from my left ear again, my ENT advised me to undertake a micro surgery to remove a part of the mastoidbone in order to get rid of the c-toma because the c-toma is eating into the mastoid bone. It will be done through the canal because the c-toma is sitting right infront & at the top of eardrum. Hopefully it won't be necessary provided the c-toma & infection are not advancing too quick and can be dealed with regular cleaning by sucking procedure. I will get a roller coaster ride everytime I get my left ear sucked, feel hell of spinning in my head. This vertigo will last about 5-10 minutes. My ENT advises me to blow my ears regularly to balance out the pressures because my e-tube is not functioning well. Sometimes my hearing in the left ear will get better after blowing. I am more or less deaf without hearing aid in my left ear. So, Niamh, I wish you good luck in tackling your latest c-toma. Kent niamhmackin <niamhmackin@...> wrote: I've just discovered your group. I'm taking ear drops to clear infection before CT scan.I'm a little worried about my right ear (cholesteatoma removed 12years ago)- I'm assured that it's fine but I don't trust ENT peoplenow - I always have tinnitus (doesn't really bother me unless I'mtired) but I've got aching behind this ear, heartbeat when I lie onthat side and jaw ache - is this common?I'm 38 and live in Galway in the west of Ireland. Has anyone triedany alternative therapies? Why are certain people prone to thesegrowths - do we have narrower eustacian tubes that normal? Can theybe avoided in any way?I would appreciated any advice or information. Many thanks.Niamh You snooze, you lose. Get messages ASAP with AutoCheck in the all-new Beta.
Guest guest
Welcome Diane, you are doing great!!! Lidia Diane <dsb135711@...> wrote: Hi. I just joined this group. I got my band on Feb 6 and as of a few weeks ago I had lost 43 lbs. So far the band is all I wanted it to be. So I am very happy with it. I am a diabetic and I had the band to help control it which it is doing. I do not have a scale at my house...I figure that this is a lifestyle change program for me and scales always made me crazy. So I only get weighed when I go to a doctors office now. I joined this group because I feel it is important for me to have constant vigilance and have the ability to ask questions, vent, be happy, etc with others who understand what I am dealing with. I got several digests already so I see that as far as length of time with the band, I am a relative newbie. However, I have been dealing with head issues on weight for 50 years or so, so I do not feel like a newbie there. In fact, I had actually come to grips with my size a while ago (my last diet was Optifast which I did right after Oprah...saying that that would be my last diet unless I had a health issue) -- but when I was diagnosed with diabetes, I knew I had to do something. After a lot of research and preparation (about 3 years +) I had my band and it was absolutely the right decision. So I am really looking forward to getting to know you and joining the community. Guest guest
Diane, welcome!! You're doing great - and I LOVE that you're not so concerned wirth scale weight!! Weighing often (daily for many) just drives people nuts, and can put them in a bad frame of mind the whole day - for artificail reasons! Daily weighing weighs nothing more than fluid shifts, and can drive us crazy. Glad you're here with us! Sandy R > > Hi. I just joined this group.
