Guest guest
to anyone with an opinion, When I get a rx (soon I hope) would it be best to ask for the pills or should I get the revia first till I can get a handle on the dosage. I see so many people saying they change the dosage because of some side effects. And from just listening it seems most everyone has changed thier dosage at least once till they get it right, so would the revia and water be the way to go until I adjust dosage for what works for me, then order pills in that dose. I would hate to get the pill then have to take 2 or try to split the contents to get a lower dosage. What dosage does the pill come in or do I specify what dosage I want ...again same dilema I'd like to start at 3mg and see what happens but if that's too much or too little, isn't the ldn pill(not talking revia) too hard to adjust down and if I take 2@ 3mg that would be too much. What's are your thoughts? anyone? Thanks Elaine
Guest guest
I think if you got a prescription for 1.5 milligrams you could make 1.5, 3.0 or 4.5 buy taking 1, 2 or 3 pills ---------- Original Message ---------------------------------- From: " becupic " <becupic@...> Reply-low dose naltrexone Date: Wed, 12 May 2004 14:06:50 -0000 >to anyone with an opinion, > When I get a rx (soon I hope) would it be best to ask for the >pills or should I get the revia first till I can get a handle on the >dosage. > I see so many people saying they change the dosage because of some >side effects. Guest guest
I agree, ask for 1.5 pills, (and fill script at Skips) but with the stipulation of taking 3 a night (which would be 4.5) that way, you can take 1, 2 or 3 pills nightly for 1.5, 3.0 or 4.5 and have the flexibility to try different doses until you find out what is good for you. But . . . start with say 3.0 and stick with it for at least 3 or 4 weeks before starting to switch around. You need to get your body used to the naltrexone before you decide to switch dosages. And be prepared, there is an adjustment time of worsening symptoms for most people that you will need to just get through. That is what I wished I had done. I asked for 3.0 nightly, which is OK, but I would like to now, at this point have the flexibility to try 4.5 without having to split capsules or running out of them early. Live and Learn. And again - Good Luck!!!
Guest guest
This is what I do.: 1- cut a ReVia pill in half on that line already on the pill 2-I put the pill in a small metal cup (the kind they sell at dollar store for sauces) and crush it with a spoon 3-put the crushed pill into a brown bottle that has mls on the side 4- add 25ml (1mg=1ml) of demineralized water but you can use ordinary water or distilled water 5-I shake the bottle before each use 6-I use a syringe or and eyedropper because they have mls on the side 7-I keep the bottle in the fridge This way makes mesauring and changing the amount you want to take very easy to do. > to anyone with an opinion, > When I get a rx (soon I hope) would it be best to ask for the > pills or should I get the revia first till I can get a handle on the > dosage. Guest guest
DEAR ELAINE - I TAKE 4.5 AND HAVE ONLY TAKEN IT FOR 11 NIGHTS. THE ONLY SIDE EFFECT I HAD WAS THE FIRST DAY I FELT REALLY TIRED, ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS SLEEP. I'M FEELING PRETTY GOOD NOW. I STOPPED TAKING MY DETROL FOR BLADDER CONTROL AND I'M TAKING 1/2 HR NAPS. MY WALKING SEEMS TO BE SOMEWHAT BETTER. STILL HAS A LOT TO GO, IT'S A START. EVERYONE'S BODY REACTS DIFFERENTLY. I DON'T KNOW IF MAYBE IT HAS TO DO WITH YOUR BODY WEIGHT OR NOT. GOOD LUCK HOPE YOU FIND WHICH ONE WORKS FOR YOU. KIM
