I just did a quick search on the Internet - this is the only thing I came up with right off the bat -- I'm sure a more detailed search might bring up more info. LT website: _http://www.whatmeds.com/meds/zoloft.html_ (http://www.whatmeds.com/meds/zoloft.html) Cut & paste info: Warnings and Precautions Zoloft has been tested in children 6 to 17 years of age with obsessive-compulsive disorder, and has not been shown to cause different side effects or problems than it does in adults. Because Zoloft can cause decreased appetite, children taking Zoloft long-term should have their growth and body weight measured regularly. Guest guest
My son (almost 6 yrs.) has been on zoloft for a year and has grown like a weed during that time. Prior to zoloft, he grew very slowly. He could wear the same shoe size for over a year. Interesting....our experience is so different. Guest guest
My 9 1/2 yr old daughter has the same problem. She is the same height as she was 2 years ago, and actually weighs less. She shows absolutely no signs of puberty, where my 11 yo. nt dd is menstruating, etc. I don't know why she isn't growing. She has also been on zoloft since age 5 1/2. I have always been so weary about these drugs my daughter has been on. hugs Judy
Guest guest
One of my sons, never on any meds, was always the smallest in his class. Short/small size. In elementary school I believe he went a couple years without any growth at all. When he started middle school, he was still small it seemed. So - The month he turned 13 years old, his doctor had him tested to get his " bone age " because I was sooo concerned. His dad's brothers (identical twins) had had kidney disease/transplants so I was worried that his not growing might be a sign of kidney disease, which their mom had mentioned to me to watch my kids' growth rate. He was 54 " -- is that 4'6 " ?? - and weighed 67.8 lbs at age 13. Good news - turned out his bone age was 8 years and 0 months = 5 years younger! So he would just go through puberty later. Doctor said there'd be cause for worry if his bones had said 5 yrs older, but not younger. And he really wanted to grow, it was a worry for him, he was ready to try growth hormones, looked up any vitamins or herbs or ANYthing...he wanted to get taller. My own thought on this was, " no " he was not going to take any hormone treatment (or whatever medical treatment helps), that we'd wait to see since he should hit puberty, just later. I did wonder if he'd hit at age 18 though. Some boys I knew in high school grew taller since high school, figured he might be that way. -- I planned to check with the doctor again though if no growth occurred by some point thru middle/high school years. And he's now 17 and *has* grown, he's about 5' 5 1/2 " (65.5 " ??). Still shorter than his brothers but then their dad wasn't quite 5'5 " . Again, never on any medication. This was my OCD son's non-identical twin () that I'm writing about. (OCD) was about 10-12 " taller than at one time!

Guest guest
Hi there, In a few days I'm to give a session to a 10 and a half years old little girl. Her parents worry about her not growing enough, or being too short for her age. Lots of tests and analysis were made but nothing was found, not even in with growth hormone. There's definitly a lot of stress in the parents, who already got sessions, the father being more of the hypocondriac kind. (he's the one who calls me on the phone). This little girl is a bit slow at school but no behaviour problems. Any suggestion on how to train her little body ? Thanks to all, I really appreciate all your messages !
