Guest guest
Debbie My neuro was going to send me to one of the UPMC hosp. in Pitts. But the appointment wasn't until july I didn't want to wait 2 months just to see if they would rx LDN. So I called the hospital and spoke to the office of Dr. Galen , I told them I didn't want to waste my time or the Dr. time so I was calling to see if they would be open to the idea of rx LDN for MS. They gave me a flat out " NO " Why I asked? They said it was not a prescribed drug for MS and would not touch it! They appartently DO NOT have an open mind about it ( but then I'm not a big drug co. pushing it) So I saved myself a 2 month wait to find that out. So I started calling in my local area (Mercer,PA) and found one Dr. that was very open minded and he said he would IF he found it could do no harm. The other Dr's in the area said this Dr. to put it nicely, doesn't follow the beaten path (Thank GOD) so my app with him is this thursday I'll soon see if he is my man! just thought I'd let you know you would probably have an uphill battle pushing LDN to them but... good luck and best wishes Elaine
Guest guest
Elaine, Thanks for writing back! Please let me know how your visit goes with this dr!!! Mercer isn't that far from us - about an hour and if you like this person and they seem to be willing to listen and to think " outside the box " , we sure would consider going to see him, if this new neuro that we're seeing doesn't!! Galen is the dr that my husband saw for his last 4 visits and, if you want to read about our experience with him, see my post " Help - horrible neuro visit!! " That will tell you what kind of a person he is!! Thanks again and please let me know how things go!! Deb
